I just picked up my replacement White EVO from BB. No problems with exchange since my black EVO was defective. It was out of the 30 day return but they didn't make it an issue. Screen on the White Evo is a Novatec and build date is 6/24. Only issue I notice at the moment is there are two bands of discoloration on the screen. This may be due to the ZAGG screen install and it being damp underneath or an issue. Won't know until later today but I'll let you all know. The speaker volume on the White one is by far louder than my previous.

Did you have the Best Buy insurance? Or did they do the exchange under the manufactuer's warranty??

TBH I didn't even buy my phone at BB. I actually pre-ordered at RS as our local BB list was full. I initially took my phone to sprint as the home row buttons were glowing even when the screen was off and when the phone was powered down. They wanted to keep it for a few days to see if it was a feature or a bug. Obviously I said no. I then went to BB who IMHO has some pretty knowledgeable staff. One of the mobile guys looked at it and said...BUG! right off. He asked if I wanted to be placed on the waiting list for a replacement and I said...yes but...I got my phone at RS. NP he put me on the list anyway. I went in sunday after they called and they completed the swap under a manufacturer's warranty.

So I have to say I loved my prev black EVO save for a few little quirks it had. Now that I have this replacement white EVO...I can honestly say my prev one had a few more issues than just quirks. This new one blows it away! Volume is loud, sound is crystal clear, there is no screen or typing lag time..in fact there is no lag of any kind and I have fully restored all files, apps, contacts, etc. Bottom line...while the first phone was better than any phone I've ever had...the new one is....exceptional!

Hmm, kind of wished I knew Best Buy would do that for you if you got the phone at Radio Shack. I went to RS on Friday because my usb connection is loose and getting the charger to sit just right is a pain. RS said "yup, loose connection" and ordered the replacement right away without hassle. The problem now is, they told me they had some in stock, and I should get a call Monday (yesterday). Well, no call yet, and I'm hoping they really did have one in stock for me.

Thats awesome, my evo is great, but notice the earpiece is not as loud as I'd like, or it cuts out sometimes, I was thinking the white one would be the newest, and therefore bug free, is it really a noticeable difference between the white one and black one?

My first black evo was not as loud as the one my brother picked up the same day. Side by side his was considerably louder and clearer. I struggled to hear people in noisy environments...and forget hearing my ringtone if it was in my handbag. Those issues didn't really bother me...I maybe use 10 min a month...its mostly text and date for me. The screen touch would lag at times. From day one the home row keys would glow when the screen was off. I didn't consider this an issue...thought it was supposed to happen. The glow slowly started to become brighter and brighter until the LEDs at the bottom were sort of washing out the lower screen...and that's when I took it in to see if I could swap it out. I can't say getting a new one will be a cure for everyone but certainly for me all the quirks I had were solved by it.

whats the issue you are having with yours?

Previous black one was glowing home row keys even when the screen was off that progressively got worse. The other stuff, lag, sound issues were just irksome and didn't really bother me. The white one is slick, sooo much faster compared to the first black one. I restored all my data and more to the white one and it keeps going along. Today I had Kindle, Gtalk, Meebo, Navigator on all at the same time and swapping between and not a lag or hiccup in sight...the black one would have been begging for mercy and locked up if I'd tried that!

I hope you get a call soon! I didn't have to wait very long at all. Maybe because I sent them all pizza for fixing my black evo the first time around! Way to a geek's heart...PIZZA!
