From darchstar of XDA Forums...

If you guys happen to have been following progress on the irc, then you will have seen how rapidly fast progress has been being made with Froyo on the CDMA Hero. As of two weeks ago, Froyo source had been dropped, and since then, almost all features of CM have been ported over, and we have a real close to fully functional ROM for the CDMA hero.

To give background as per what this ROM is, this is AOSP 2.2 made from CyanogenMod sources. It is 100% Open Source, and 100% built straight up from code. This isn't just a port, this ROM was actually made with the CDMA Hero in its intent.

Now, this is still not 100% functional, but very close. So don't complain if your phone explodes, or if you start a nuclear war inside your phone. A list of what works and doesn't is detailed promptly below

What Does Work

* 3g/evdo
* SMS
* GPS
* Jogball
* All Sensors
* Market
* Most Live Wallpapers (HW restrictions)
* Camera (3MP)
* Bluetooth (including BT HID)
* Wifi
* OpenGL
* MultiTouch
* MMS

What Doesn't Work
*Preview in the default Camera app
*Video Camera

to install this ROM, please follow these guideline accordingly to whether You have been using a test release, or are a newcomer to my ROMS

First Timers
1.) If you haven't already, root and install a recovery image
2.) Make a nandroid backup (can't guarantee everything will go alright for you )
3.) WIPE
4.) install the rom
5.) Optionally you can flash Google Shits if you want them

Upgrading?
1.) Make an nandroid
2.) flash the rom (the updater-script will backup and restore your Google Shits for you)
Take all bug reports to the IRC please. This is still not the primetime release yet, So i can't guarantee you wont run into any issues/problems, and i don't want this thread to reach 500 pages by the end of the week :p.

I've tested a few of the alpha build and they have all been super fast and battery life has been exceptional. Just flashed this version today and so far it seems on par with the alphas. I am still having some FC issues with the Market that started with the GoogleShits 91 version, I thought he had those fixed, but I guess not. Now if we can only get the HTC clock widget and vvm ported over I'd be happy. Before anyone mentions it, I did try Google Voice, and I was unhappy with how fast it picked up to vm.

wow.... it's pretty kick ass to hear that updates are efficient and use less resources, with better batt life, when usually in software these days, it's the other way around, more bloat, etc.

I'm excited to sit on the sidelines on this one and can't wait to try it out when the minor kinks are worked out.

BTW, since the devs are working on video, I wonder if there's any way to push the Hero video up to 640x480, with better audio codec support (for clearer audio)?!

This might be a stupid question but thought I would try. I am coming from Fresh 2.3.3 and flashed this ROM today after doing a wipe. I want to re-install or move the apps to the sd card but mine is formatted with the partition. Everything I've read says I need to remove the partition. How do I remove it? I created the partition on the phone and was hoping there was a way to remove it on the phone.

Thanks!
