Best Buy or Sprint - Any One Better to buy from?

Sprint seems to be constantly sold out, both online and in the stores. They don't take names so you have to visit the store and it's truly hit or miss. I'm going on 3 weeks. A local BEST BUY store took my name and said they will call me when they get some in. Could be this week if I'm lucky. Is it OK to buy from Best Buy? I know the rebate is instant, so the phone is $199 on the spot. Has anyone bought from BEST BUY and would like to share their experience. Any pitfalls from going outside a Sprint Store? TIA

I bought at Best Buy... no issues with activation.

I'm not sure what phone you're coming from, but the only issue came when transferring contacts (i went from Pre to EVO) because the little machine they use to xfer contacts doesn't work between the Pre to the EVO.

I ended up exporting them myself to Google and syncing with Google to get all my contacts back. It wasn't a huge deal, but it took a little bit of effort on my end to try to figure out the solution.

If you don't mind waiting 8 weeks for a mail-in rebate, go thru Sprint. Otherwise go to Best Buy if they have any in stock.

I went thru 3gstore.com since they actually had them in stock last week when nobody else did. Had to settle for the mail-in rebate but was given a free car charger, free screen protectors (3), and a free silicone gel case. Also dodged shipping costs by picking it up at their warehouse in IL. Not a bad alternative to waiting 2-3 weeks according to every place else.

Try Wirefly.com -- they sell it for $190 with $25 back if you order through BING shopping (and register). Free shipping and no tax in most states. I had no problem with them and got my Evo within days of the launch. There is a waiting list now.

I actually had an order in with Wirefly then noticed 3Gstore had them in stock and canceled the order. It's all about your patience level and if you're willing to wait. I, of course, have no patience!

Side Note: Wirefly took 20 seconds to cancel my order/refund my credit card -- excellent customer service
