Screen Capture App? Root?

Has anyone tried this with Win 7 (I'm still using the RC) 64-bit? I tried running DDMS as an admin and not as an admin. USB debugging is enabled and I mounted the SD card but I still can't get the app to "see" my phone...

The JDK IS installed...

My computer is still on the Win 7 x64 RC. I have the retail version, but haven't installed it yet. I've taken a number of screen shots of my device.

I just threw this up real quick. Most of the guides out on the next are designed for those that are already familiar with Eclipse. This one is more friendly to non-eclipse users.

Is there a way to get a screenshot without connecting to your computer and using the SDK? Please accept my apologies if I missed something. I have a friend who switched to Droid from the iPhone and he said on there, all you do is hit home and the power button at the same time, and it takes a screenshot and saves it to your images folder. That's what I'm looking for - something simple and fast so I can text someone a screenshot while mobile.
