What time should I be at Verizon Store for my X??

I've been talking to a VW rep for about 2 months now. He just confirmed the store near me will have 40 units for sale, first come, first serve - they open at 9. Now I've just texted him asking this same questions but I've never "camped out" for a phone. For people that have done this, or people that may just know what time to be in "line" outside what time do you recomend I show up? He states only about 35 people will be there but I don't want to go by that just to be sure. If all else fails I will just go via VW.com with the instant rebate, in the store its going to be billed to my account so rebate or no rebate it doesn't matter right "now"

Just make sure you are there @ 9am when they open the doors.
Bring trip wire with you as well ........just in case.

One of the stores in my area is opening at 7:30 and the others at 8. They already have huge lists (at least 25 people on each with 1 having 60). I would recommend, depending on how many people are already on the list for your store, to be there at like 6:30.

The one I'm going to try is opening at 9am. They will have 55 units in stock. I will get there about 7:30-8. I'm bringing plenty of study material with me so I have something to do.

Southern California - Hi Desert area

I'm expecting big launches up here but I wonder how many of those people that have ordered will really start waiting extra early. I'd actually would prefer to avoid the stores because of the mass amounts of people expecting to be inside and the long wait time.

Also, no one would get in my way. If I have to pull out a gun on someone else on this forum for simply getting out of his car because he saw me, then I may just have to burn your tent down... and THEN pull the gun out to tell to you to back away from the door.

I just spoke with my rep (10:45est, hows that for service ) and he said yes, 40 units will be in stock, some die hard people will be there at 8, but predicts that the 40 will be sold out in 5 hours. He has seen people bring coffee and chairs but he also said this is one of the few phones that they haven't offered a pre-order so things may be a little different. No problem though, I work 3 min away and live 3 miles away - I'll be up, I ride a motorcycle so I just cruse around until I see someone there then I'll camp, otherwise I'll work a little a block over to help cover my $100 owed.

Take this info as you will, this location is in GA - Hours are 9-8, Sun 11-6.

I talked to the manager of a VZW store this evening about when to get to the store on Thursday. He told me that the store opens at 8am but he honestly does not think that they'll get hammered. He wouldn't tell me the exact number of phones they will have for Thursday but said that if they ran out they could check other stores stock levels to find me one.

He suggested I get to the store no later than about 7:30. They'd be there at 7. If I get their attention they'll open the doors, let me in, and give me a cup of coffee while I wait. I like this store!!!

Strange, where I live, the Verizon store I called up said they will have plenty of Droid x. He said he can hold one for me if i'm a new customer or doing an upgrade, the list is still not full. Or I can just walk in and pick it up. Then I asked about incredible, cause i'm not sure about the huge size of the X... held a dummy, seemed too large. He said the incredible would probably take me 3 weeks, and shipped to my house, but Droid X will be no problem.

I'm in a similar position. I went to my local VZW store (one of several) and asked them about the Droid X launch on Thursday. They said they open at 7AM on launch day but are currently setting up "appointments" for release so I was able to get my name on a list and have an "appointment" set up for 9 AM with a guarantee that I will have a Droid X in hand on Thursday! Works great for me and means I will be getting a bit more sleep that day than I had anticipated.
