Root 1.15 to 1.21

Hi all,

Rooted my Desire last night using Lekky's guide (thanks v much!) made it very easy.

After a little while I got a OTA update request to upgrade from 1.15 to 1.21, have heard people having hassles so I never installed. Im coming from a T-mobile branded phone that is rooted as Lekkys guide. Just wondering if I should install this update or wait and if I do how should I go about doing it?

Another thing, I created my one and only SD as the goldcard and is currently running in my phone, will this cause any problems in the future if I need to format the card or can I make a duplicate card or something?

i don't think you can install OTA updates when rooted. Anyway that would be an update to their branded t mobile 2.1 rom wouldnt it? It wouldn't do much good trying to update your unbranded 2.2 froyo (nexus one port) rom!

I think hes done what i done and put a stock rom on with 2.1. after rooting it promts a firmware update from 1.15 to 1.21

Yeah, I basically rooted and it booted up straight into the usual desire FW then it asked for the OTA. I havent installed any Roms still on "stock" firmware as per your instructions to root Lekky.

Err, I never realised you could get a Desire with 1.5 on it. I thought they came with 2.1 as standard. Clearly I am mistaken...

Desires only come with 2.1
1.15 to 1.21 is the software build number

I'm not Lekky, but ManofSteal recommended the modaco 3.1 rom. being a fan of modaco myself, I tried it and love it. Its based on 1.21 update 1
