I have an upgrade now, but I want to use my other december upgrade so that I can save the other upgrade for my mother, who's also on the plan and wants to get a phone soon. Tons of people have told me that if your contract ends in 2010, you can upgrade to the X on release day, and when I asked my corporate verizon store about the incentive, they acted as if they had never heard of it. Anybody have proof from a Verizon source or any tips I could use to help the employees understand? The only proof I have is from a person who was at the live Droid X event and heard them talk about it.

True enough - yesterday I had one tell me that the Droid X was only going to be available online, that they weren't going to sell them in the stores. I literally laughed in her face and then told her, "Yes you are!" Rude, I know, but it slipped out before I could stop it! Naturally, she had no clue about how many, early opening of the store - nothing. I just turned around and walked out.
