While I might suggest the "held it" threads be merged I feel pretty hyper right now and have some news. Now only did I play with one at a bb store, got a friend there :D, but I saw mines in a box with a sticky on it that had my name on it. Yes he is holding it for me, ok that may not have sounded right. Anyways all I gotta do is make sure that I wake up in time the store opens, not sure I'm going to sleep. Honestly never been this excited over a phone before, kinda silly lol.

So I held it, and I got to admit recently using the HTC Aria with HTC sense for a little over a week before it somehow flew off of my lap accross the room during a world cup match and landed on a hard floor shattering the whole screen useless. But as I was saying the Moto blur ui will take a little bit of getting used to. It feels way faster than the Aria, duh. The screen size, the keyboard wow. I think I'm shocked that although its bigger than the Evo, it really isnt. I guess because its so thin. I was so relieved because when I held the evo over the weekend to compare I was not liking the evo thickness.

Now I will briefly talk about this so called locked down hardware that Motorola is releasing tomorrow, as if I havent done that already. I'm not going to lie, this phone looks and feels sexy. The way its crafted just feels so good in your hands, you can tell its quality. I have faith in the hacking community :D and tbh I think root will suffice before/after froyo goodness is released to us this summer. But yea, I'm pretty impressed with the hardware, it feels great. Sorry for repeating myself. *end of transmission*

I felt the exact same way when I was waiting for my Droid X to be delivered! Seemed like Fedex was taking their good ol' time! I was pacing back and forth and when I finally saw the truck I sprinted downstairs.

Funny thing is UPS got to my house around 10:30...Fedex around 1:50. haha

Thanks for the review. Where in NJ are you? I'm in P'ton. I'm buying online, tonight. Don't wanna deal with those lines, myself.

I wouldnt call that much of a review lol. I dont know where P'ton is, Im still fairly new to nj. All I got to do is wake up and be there, or they might be forced to release it to someone else :/

Not going to lie, I miss playing with the Aria but oh well I think I'll have a fine replacement :)

hey did they give you the full retail price

No, I'm coming in as a new customer. I left big red last year for the iphone *pukes*

I played with one; i found it to be a mixed bag. Better than the evo in some ways not as good in others. I also played with a vibrant today. Wicked display but it has a few issues. None of them major little things like the hump on the back (the evo felt better in the hands but the samsung display is so dang good). Made test calls on them all. The driod x speaker was a bit muted; the samsung a bit worse; the evo the best of them all. The person I called couldn't tell a difference between my current phone (sprint), evo (sprint), droid (verizon) and the vibrant (t-mobile). She said I sounded the same on all 4; another test person said the evo sounded the best.

3g was slow on all of them; evo a bit faster. These test you see in the reviews are wi-fi. The driod default icons are kind of bleh; real distraction; the samsung looks the best; the evo the most useful (these comments are on supplied interface). The samsung browser has that annoying +/- widget for zooming as well as pinch/zoom.

I personally decided not to rush into a buy tomorrow but wait after my trip. To be honest I'm leaning towards the vibrant; only major dislike was the hump on the back; weak sound; and it froze up on me once while testing.

I played with one at a verizon store yesterday or the day before. The size is perfect. It's pretty close to my Saga but thinner. I need to get one tomorrow as I bricked my Saga last night while downloading a Samsung update to it. That's the last straw with samsung for me anyway. They can't even provide a firmware update that doesn't brick! I should have googled that one first. That was my backup phone for overseas travel too. I'm reduced to no phone and using my ipod touch 1G.

Anyway the X screen is great. I played with an iphone 4 on the weekend. It's a crisp screen but 15 seconds later I concluded that my ipod 3G with ios4 (yes I have two) was basically the same. It's still a cramped 3.5" screen. All the retina blowing pixels don't help. My laptops have similar resolution on 10-15" screens and the pixels aren't to big. Apple should have made the screen half as big so they could brag about 600ppi resolution. I'll take the BIG screen!!

Interesting since your findings contradict what several reviewers have said.

My brother played with Galaxy S Vibrant and said Samsung icons are ugly...and the phone itself is way less wow than he expected....I held an X as well and it is truly amazing...so can't wait till tomorrow...

btw, there is also a Touch Wiz apk that people can try out...don't need to be rooted. Here is a link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=709763 ;)
