Few desire questions.

Hey guys. So capping of from last time, all your help was great and further finalized my decision. I've now had my desire for nearly three weeks and it is GREAT!:D more than satisfied.

As before this, the best phone I had was a viewety, I never understood how the whole apps thing worked, I mean I had used them on friend's iphones but had no idea of the process of how to install or anything, but after I set up my desire I went on to android market to check it all out and WOW! I never imagined it would have been as easy as choosing which app and clicking install! plus the downloads take like 3 seconds! not to mention the ridiculous quantity of apps absolutely free! I actually could not believe how many there were, it was like each time I scrolled to the bottom of the list more would just keep coming, I think if tried to see the whole list I would be there all day!

Also I think other issues with it are not nearly as bad as made out to be, for example the battery easily lasts me 1 1/2 to 2 days, indeed it does not last nearly as long as less sophisticated phones but I think it is only a problem if you are too much of a geek and are playing with your phone all day. Also with the shut down issue some people report of the phone taking from 5 mins up to an hour! I press shut down and it shuts down in less than 5 seconds. This is the first phone I have had that you can confidently do whatever you want without having the experience ruined by major bugs and glitches, no matter how good the phone there is absolutely nothing worse than something that just constantly fails and crashes, nothing worse than the feeling of not being able to use your phone with confidence and without that little worrying feeling in the back of your head! as I mentioned, I have owned a viewty (also the reason why I could not have lived with the hero). With the desire I have experienced a few TINY, minor bugs and glitches but it works flawlessly 99% of the time!:D All in all, absolutely AMAZING phone! the only thing I can genuinely complain about is the speaker.

Onto my questions then.

1. Has anybody a clue as to when 2.2 is expected in Australia? Also I bought mine outright so will I still receive a txt notification?

2. I installed the launcher pro app and hate it. It is the one with only three sliding screens that I think is used on nexus. Anyway, the one thing I like is that on the bottom of the home screen there is that multiple squares icon in the center which brings up all programs, however instead of the programs page sliding out from the bottom of the screen like on sense, rather all the programs sort of 'un-zoom' out of now where on to the page which I think is absolutely delicious and stylish! much more so than the way sense does it. My question is whether there is an app or something that enables you to do this with sense.

3. Regarding sim cards, I am ignorant as to the whole sd card "class" thing, I know the higher the class the better, but does this actually affect performance in any way? I am still using the provided SD for the time being and when I open up the music player it takes up to 3 seconds for the list to load up. 3 seconds is nothing drastic but then again its only about 2 gigs of music so I'm wondering how it will cope with considerably more music when I upscale to say 16 or 32 gb. Have any of you had experience with both a lower "class" sd as well as a higher class? is it just less lag?

You can change launcherpro to have 7 screens it just has 3 by default. Just press menu on your homescreen then select preferences, home screen settings.

You can then choose how many screens you have and which one is default, e.g 7 and 4 as default (the middle one!)

You can also enable the 3D app drawer which IMO is COOL go to advanced settings and tick the 3D drawer option.

After a week or so of endless tinkering I find launcherpro is much better than sense IMO but each to their own.

hmm, The only thing is I don't want to sacrifice sense for this one feature. Its a shame that sense was not fitted with more stylish details like this, sense is a fantastic bit of gear, but it would be even better where they to pay attention to quality and elegant details such as this one.

Thanks for your info.
