Note:
1. I did not optimize any settings except switching between normal and night mode.
2. I'm not good at taking pictures.
3. Do not use this to compare other pictures from other phones, it's only suppose to show you how effective night mode is on the Vibrant.

Now, with all that out of the way. Here you go, judge for yourself.

Here it is on default mode, normal mode, or whatever you want to call it.

The only light source is through a closed blinds window behind me. This is the best picture I can take to show you how effective night mode is. Hope it helps!

Now, do you REALLY NEED that led flash? Really? :D

P.S. No, this is not photoshopped. I'm not even sure I would do that in photoshop anyways.

After seeing this photo? Yes, I'd say I would really need a flash. I guess if I do get a Vibrant I'll carry a small led flashlight around with me if I take any dark pictures. This is not a deal killer for me though, but Samsung should've put a flash on this phone. I mean my $170 cheaper Moto Cliq XT has a kick ass flash on it.

From the distance I was away from the bathroom the led flash would not have helped at all. Perhaps for close up it would help which I have not tried yet. If anyone wants to give a comparison of close up, then feel free to do so.

You guys think they couldn't add a flash due to the 16gb internal storage size? All the other galaxy S variants with a LED flash only have 2GB internal storage if I am not mistaken. For as few pictures as I take at night, and how much crap I put on my phones, I'd rather have the extra space. Plus, how often are you going to be taking pictures in the pitch dark? Night mode looks really impressive for what it is.

Possibly but unlikely in my opinion but I do agree Space> Flash Camera.
