To get a screen protector vs Gorilla Glass...

So i have heard through some of the threads that the new Droid X will have the Gorilla Glass Screen on it. To those of you who have a device with gorilla glass, specifically the droid, Are screen protectors needed??

A co-worker of mine has the Droid, and his screen DOES scratch - it has scratches all over it actually!! But when i go onto these YouTube channels and look at these guys taking pens and what not to these phones to show the resistance of the screen, i think to my self - DO I NEED ONE.. but in the back of my mind is my co-workers screen on his Droid.

Right now i have the brand new iPhone 4 but am seriously thinking about dropping this phone and getting the Droid X on July 15th, but when i drop a few hundred dollars on it i dont want to mess it up, WHAT SO EVER.

Which brings me to my next thing. I have GHOST ARMOR on my iPhone 4 and i like it, ALOT!! So i was thinking about going with Ghost Armor for my new Droid X.. I emailed into the company and they responded to day with an email back saying that its on SALE now, but i don't wanna buy anything with out getting some info from people on this site:

Ghost Armor is now Available for the Droid X.

What do you guys think?? Like i said got it on my iPhone 4 looks great
(will post pics if anyone is interested in what it looks like) Let me know
what you guys thinke!!!:D

There are numerous threads stating that you SHOULD indeed protect Gorilla Glass. I think the Droid X uses the same GG as Droid 1. The "pen test" is sort of stupid because scratches depend on the Hardness of a material. For example, Diamond is one of the hardest materials out there. A pen is just plastic or cheap metal, there's no way it can break GG. But sand? I would guess that sand or dirt would be able to scratch the glass if done a certain way, especially when pressed against the screen in your pocket

If you like Ghost Armor, then get Ghost Armor. I dont think protectors work any different on different phones.

Does anybody know the return policy of a verizon store. i know i have 30 days to return it, but I wanted to buy a screen protector there and try it out for a couple of days.

I had one of the verizon screen protectors for my dare and it really really just sucked. If I lose any of the screen sensitivity to the protector, I want to return it. Anyone know?

Thanks!

I bought the verizon screen protectors today when i got the X. I.think they will be going back tomorrow. They don't even cover.the whole front of the screen. I would like one the at least protects the whole front!

Sadly why does the whole screen need covered? There is no point in covering the black around the screen i really like the anti glare from verizon but thats too bad you dont like it. But didnt you look and see its not a full front cover? I mean that would be the first thing i check if i wanted it to cover the whole screen but thats just me

I bought Amzer screen protector from Amazon and was completely disgusted with it. PITA to apply (I am all thumbs anyway when it comes to these things), could not squeegee all the bubbles out and the surface felt tacky. Less than 5 minutes later I pull it off and tossed it out.

Today I went to BB after work and had them install the Zagg screen protector. The girl who sold it to me did the job in 5 minutes and it looks great! The surface is nice and smooth and the display is crisp and glossy. And no bubbles.:D
