Accessories seidio active causing reception problems

Got my phone on monday, got the seidio active case today (thursday.) I've only had it for an hour or two, and love its look and feel.

However, I am having some reception issues. I'm going to be testing it out over the next couple of days, but wanted to know if anybody else has noticed a drop in signal strength?

I tried to check the signal with the case on and off, but the results were mostly inconclusive... I tried it a few times, and the first few did seem to lower the signal, but the last few tests the signal was equally low with the case off as it was on.

I've kept it on all night, and it's still having problems. I'm going see how it does tomorrow. I've not had any reception problems until this point, but it's possible there's just something going on at home.

One other thing I've noticed, and I'm not sure if this means anything, but it is popping in and out of 3g connectivity.and switching to 1x.

Now, I've never had a problem with a case causing reception problems before (in fact, apparently it's the solution to poor antenna performance in some cases.) My intuition is that I'm probably off base with this, but figured I'd put it out there to see if anybody else had this problem.

Had the case for a few weeks and haven't noticed any issues with reception.

I am not a believer in looking at the bars or 3G symbol on the phone, so I only look at it if I am having issues. I also live very close to a cell tower (can see it from my house), so that could be why I am not noticing any problems.

I believe there's one not too far from my house as well. Never really had a problem with cells in my house. I

+2.

I did measure a real 2-3dBm drop, but that is certainly not enough to change anything.

The first time I put the case on, it went from saying 95 dbm to 80 dbm. I don't know if that's a lot for signal strength. But as I said in the OP, it wasn't exactly consistent.

I'm guessing there was a general network issue at my house last night that happenend to coincide with my getting the new case. I'll follow up if this doesn't seem to be the issue.

FYI, 95 dbm to 80 bdm is a dramatic increase in reception. The lower the number, the better the signal.
