Hey people, it's been a bit of a trek but I've put together a nice list of Android games that I think you should all check out. It took me quite some time to trawl the market and the web for a list of great games, it took a while to put the article together too.

Any suggestions on what to add would be nice :)

Planning on another page of honorable mentions too and maybea few more apps I haven't got round to putting in there yet.

Enjoy.

No polarbit games and no ExZeus? Dunno about that...!

Apart from those obvious ones, i reckon go-go rescue squad is a very under-rated game and shuda been in there ahead of a couple of them.

Delighted that you didn't put in any of those sh*t m:vampires/zombies etc etc games that i just can't understand who would ever play!

Good job though, bit of a mission gathering all the vids i'd say!

Polarbit games etc are mostly 3D and as I said in the article I'm not too impressed with 3D on Android atm especially due to lowish framerates on a lot of devices, i tried to stick to games that impressed me over something like DS/PSP and a lot of the 3D games just do not do that for me.

Nice list. You mention a few that I love (RoboDefense, Sky Force, What the Doodle), a few that I've tried and uninstalled (Labyrinth, Zenonia, Buka) and a few that I'll have to check out (Diner Dash, SpeedX, Plateau). The most likely reasons I uninstall games is either a poor user interface, the complexity early on, or the cost following play of the Lite (demo) version. I'm not opposed to paying for a game, but I try to seek out games I think have high replay value for me before coughing up the coins.

In addition to the one's we both like (your list and my Droid), I'd suggest checking out Slugs (accelerometer with great graphics), Abduction! World Attack (vertical scrolling with cute mini-puzzles), Air Control (one of several air traffic controllers), and Trap. The last one has horrible graphics (at least on the Droid), but the strategy is so unique that I find myself going back to it again and again.

Other games I currently have installed that see occasional play time are Bonsai Blast, Fish Food, Paper Toss, Play Curling, and Phit Droid. I also have Nesoid installed but the old school ROMs tend to lose their "wow" factor after playing them a few times.

Thanks for sharing your list. I'm always on the lookout for something new, and as you pointed out, there are simply too many options to personally try so I depend on threads like these to draw attention to ones worth considering.

Robo Defense is pretty addictive, should give that a try if you haven't already.

Should be labeled, best games for phones that arent capable of running real games. :D
As I said in one of my other posts I think it's personal preference, as I have a PSP I find the 3D graphics on just about every 3D Android/iPhone game pretty crap in comparison, in my eyes 3D games will be a lot more worth it when there are more games that match those kind of graphics.

The iPhone 4 is getting there, I'm sure we'll see a lot of great looking games for it, Android wise I don't see a lot happening in the 3D department.

But seriously, I've tried most of these and they are poor, gaming on Android really does need to improve.... Allot.
It depends what kind of games you like I guess, but as I've said on other forums Android games are by no means poor.

Yeah.. mystique series is also there..
Will probably add the series to the honorable mention section as people seem to like them, but imo they're way too short for what you pay.

Robo defense is in the list ;)

Armored Strike Online and Magical Drop Touch are two more good games in my opinion.
Haven't tried those, was kind of put off magical drop touch by the graphics and that it looked like a puzzle bobble type game. Armored strike I'll have to give a try.
