Help Dead Pixel on Droid X

Well I got my Droid X today and I'm pretty mad already, love the phone itself (after removing all the moto-widgets off the home screens) but I have one dead pixel. It's a deal breaker for me I hope when I goto VW tomorrow they will put me on a list to get a new phone.
Not to be nit picky, but I paid good money and after you notice a dead pixel that's all I can think of when looking at the phone.
Other than that I love it, coming from a Droid running Froyo BB v0.4 clocked at 800mhz even.
I would suggest anyone that got their Droid X today to look for dead pixels, it may be a common problem.

Yup i've got one too... it's a red pixel in the lower right corner of the phone (if you're holding it upright) just inside the title frame of the voicemail shortcut...

Where is yours and what color is it?

Not a deal breaker for me... it's really not noticeable unless i'm in an application that has a darker background. Although I will be taking it back once they have replacements in of course...

But that's truly the only flaw with this phone thus far... i'm actually having to re-train myself on how to type effectively on a touch screen phone because the multitouch works so well and the response is so damned fast that i can't keep up lol

All in all i adore this phone... and yea i'm making this post from my DX of course lol

Mine is right above the Phone icon on the bottom left, it's black and almost seems like 2 pixels in a diagonal.
I tried using the free app for stuck pixels thats on the market called JScreenFix but I think that app is for stuck pixels primarily.
Because yours is a color I would suggest you try that app sounds like you have a stuck pixel.

Best of luck.

Thanks for the tip! Nevertheless I gave it a shot and it was a no go. I let it run for like 15 minutes and it didn't work. Red pixel is still there. It did manage to completely drain my battery though lol.

But thanks for trying to help =0)

I have a dead pixel on mine as well. I noticed it right when I got it but then I didn't notice it until recently. I don't know if it went away or I just forgot about it but now I can't stop staring it. It is a red pixel in the area of the top right. What is Verizon's policy on this sort of thing? I would like a new device if possible.

I had what I thought to be a dead pixel as well, but after 2 hours of playing with the phone it miraculously healed itself. I call it the Jesus pixel now. If its red like mine was that usually just means its "stuck". Try a few reboots and see of that wakes it back up.

there is also a video that flashes colors very quickly onto the screen, i think after about 15 minutes or so this also unsticks them.

I contacted Verizon yesterday via telephone. I told them i had a dead pixel that is red. They said it was no problem and got started on getting me set up for a replacement. I was told the replacement would ship out on the 27th.

Of course right after getting off the phone with them i noticed that the red pixel was gone. I guess i had a stuck pixel and not a dead pixel but it seems to reappear sometimes in the same spot and then disappear again. I'll see how it goes until the replacement gets here.

I called and spoke to someone in technical support who was more than helpful. He informed me my issue is definitely within warranty range and set me up with another device to be shipped to my address. Unfortunately I'm now on the backlog of orders that will be shipped by Aug. 3, but fortunately I have a working device.

He also is charging me the price at which I purchased the device ($85) rather than the full amount with any and all rebates.

Got to love VZW!

Got one too - green, one inch from the top. I called Verizon and they are exchanging the phone on 27th.

I didn't have any bad pixels when I got the phone initially. Some hours later I had one at the bottom of the screen but that one went away the next day. I wasn't happy for too long since a new one appeared and it keeps staring at me all the time.

I've had my phone for just under two weeks and just noticed a stuck/dead red pixel on my screen a couple days ago. I'm not sure when the pixel got stuck because I normally keep my screen as dim as possible to conserve battery. (The pixel is most noticeable when the screen is at 100% brightness and less noticeable when it's dim). The pixel is near the top right corner of my screen and can only be seen with dark backgrounds like when my settings menu is pulled up.

At first I panicked, but after Googling around I saw that it might be possible to get it unstuck. I tried two different apps from the Android Marketplace (JScreenFix and PixelFixer). I ran both of them for 30 minutes or more at least three times each over the past couple days to no avail. I also tried applying medium pressure to the spot with my finger, rebooting a few times, and removing the battery while the phone was on to reset the device (the latter was the Verizon customer service rep's recommendation). None of it worked and now my red pixel is strobing/pulsating a bit.

The rep I dealt with at Verizon was very nice however and said I could get a new Droid X because I was still in the 30 day warranty period. I hope this next phone won't have any pixel/screen problems.

I Too Have The Dead Pixel Issue. Its Green Dots Almost In The Exact Center Of The Screen :-( This Is Now My 4th DROID-X ????????? And It Has NOT Yet Been Activated...I Was Afraid If I Activated It They Would Send Me A Replacement ( The Shell) And NOT A New Phone ...This And Other Problems Have Been Going On With Verizon CSR's For 3 Months Now ..Ahhhhhhhh

Everyone Says You Have 30 Days To Try The Phone, And It Rolls IF You Ever Take Advantage Of This.....Unfortunatly I Have Had To Replace 3 Now 4 Droid-X's........And Now I Am Being Told That You Have 30 Days From When You Get Your FIRST Phone.....Doesn't Help When i Am Going Thru These LIke Crazy.....

When I Was Wiping The 2nd Phone The Dude On The Verizon Tech Support Heard It LOOP And LOOP ...Said He Had NEVER Heard That Ever On A Droid-X :-(

Has Anyone Recieved This Error
"The application settings (process com.android.settings ) has stopped unexpectedly, Please try again...
