I bought my daughter a Samsung moment, submitted the rebate form and waited patiently for my $100. A few weeks later I got my wife one and submitted her paperwork for the rebate. Well, I get an email from Sprint that the rebates have been denied. Thanks for screwing me out of $200... 10 years as a sprint customer to get this crap.

That's crazy. How can they even deny a rebate if it's from their company? it just seems silly. I'd call and complain. Sprint has been surprisingly good to me so far. I had them years back and they screwed me over big time. I was hesitant to come back, but the AMAT plan was too good to resist.

not to put it past you, but did you make sure you did everything correctly?
mine was rejected, but it's because I changed phone numbers during the rebate process.

so they had my old one on record, and it bounced back against the new one. that's a hard stop for them. but it was corrected.

they should tell you why it was denied, rather than just "no".

Everything was fine. They denied it because it was an "ineligible store". It was a kiosk at Sam's club. Signed with Sprint signage, sprint phones, access to sprint sites, etc. They even printed the rebate forms for me. I've got calls into the store too.

The manager at the kiosk is trying to get Sprint to credit my account. He says he'll pay me out of pocket if Sprint won't pay. Then he tells me he's had to pay $2200 out of pocket already. He asked me if he could pay me in 2 months. I said "no. that's too long to wait". I feel like an ass but I just don't trust that I'll get the $$ if I wait 2 months.

I feel your pain. The manager needs to address why his Kiosk is not being honored by mail in rebates. Something he did wrong maybe which may be why he is paying out Rebates himself. It is your choice to wait but I wouold definitely try reaching the dane hesse email to address the issue. Also this probably would have been better suited in the Sprint Subforum(still on this site) than Moment forum.

Seems like your beef is with Sam's Club, not Sprint. If they are passing themselves off as an authorized Sprint retailer (requirement for the rebate), then that is fraud. Sprint is just following the rules listed in black and white.

Why would my beef be with Sam's Club? They just lease space to the kiosk company. My beef is with Sprint. There's nothing on the rebate form that states that I can't get the rebate.

Oh, I thought the Sam's Club was a Point of Sale advertising display run by Sam's Club. I now understand that you are talking about those kiosks like you see in the mall.

Your beef is with SprintKiosk, which is a Radio Shack company. Sprint does not own, manange or control the kiosks. Radio Shack is the company which owns the kiosks which sell Sprint phones. The rebate only applies to phones purchased from Sprint's own retail stores, not third-party resellers like Radio Shack. If you were mislead by the way the kiosk displayed itself, that fraud is on Radio Shack.

Sprint is trying to encourage people to go to stores/sites they own which are higher profit and also prompt accessory (huge profit) sales. They are not going to pay to have you go to what is essentially a hardware competitor. That's why the form specifies that the rebate only applies to phones purchased at a Sprint store.

Authorized Sprint Resellers represent Sprint. Sprint holds some level of liability here. I've been with them (two lines) for 10 years in January. If they want to screw a 10 year customer out of $200 I guess that's their decision.

Sprint is terrible with rebates.
Not True! If you talk to the right folks at Sprint, you'll find they are very helpful in fixing the problem. (I did) We changed numbers when getting my daughter's Moment. They initially denied it, but it took exactly one call (10 minutes) and they reimbursed my account directly for both rebates I was entitled to instead of the card they were giving out at the time.

I must have talked to the right folks, because I was able to get a Sprint store to match the then-current Radio Shack price of $90 out-the-door, when the Moment was $100 after rebate in Sprint stores and online. Wasn't able to tack the rebate on to that, unfortunately...

People don't get all bent out of shape for nothing.

The denying of the rebate is Standard Operating Procedure. Just give them a call on the rebate email and they will approve it asap.

This has happened on each and every rebate I've done in the last 5-6 years. Have some of you never done rebates with Sprint before??
