Yes, the 32GB SanDisk micro SD card *DOES* work with the Droid

According to that, it's not a 32gb micro sd card. it's a 16gb.

I'm assuming that you are talking about my post. For some reason, when you simply click on the link, it just takes you to the Verizon Wireless homepage (at least it just did that to me). However, if you right click and copy shortcut, then past it in your browser, it will take you to the 32GB Micro SD card. I'm not sure if the $50 discount is location based, but I don't see why it would be as it is an online deal. If you cannot find it with that link, just type "micro sd" into the search box on the Verizon Wireless website and find the 32GB micro sd card. It comes with a full size sd adaptor and a usb micro adaptor.

But, yes it is the 32 GB one and yes it is for only $99 (at least when I visit the site it is).

Edit: Ok, I see what you are talking about. You are talking about the PICTURE and not the description. I would assume that a 16GB micro sd card is not going to cost $99 after a $50 discount. Also, when you add it to your cart, it shows as a 32GB micro sd card. Chances are that they just don't have a pic for the 32GB one yet or they just accidentally loaded the wrong pic. Besides, the part number even states that it is a 32GB card: Part#: TADP-32GBG.

The interesting thing is that, if you click the compatibility tab on it, it only shows the DROID X - kinda weird, actually.

Also, for even more S&G, check out this comparison I did at the Motorola site: Mobile Phones - Motorola USA

Some key things to note:

  1. DROID lists digital zoom of 4X, DROID X does not
  2. DROID lists OGG, AMR WB, AMR NB and MIDI as playable formats, DROID X does not
  3. DROID list Google Talk for IM, DROID X does not (of course this point is moot since you can get it from market, right?)
  4. DROID lists IMAP, POP3 and Attachment and browser document viewer (M$ Office and Adobe PDF), DROID X does not
  5. DROID does not come with Need for Speed Shift, DROID X does.

Of course there is the onboard memory, the wireless N capabilities, and such bells and whistles on the DROID X, but it is missing the physical KB as well.

Anyhoo, now that I am done with the tangential part of my post, let me get to the point:

BOTH phones show supporting up to 32GB. So why doesn't VZW list the DROID as an option? Trying to scare people into buying a totally useless locked eFused phone as an upgrade b/c the average Joe Blow won't know that the DROID also supports 32GB microSDHC cards?

See Mobile Phones - Motorola USA - A comparison of the DROID and the DROID X.

Scroll to the bottom.

Answer is right there.

El surmised much the same as I did in another thread (before reading this one, BTW) - that VZW is not listing the DROID to 'fool' the average Joe Blow into buying a new phone.

But, you see, I'm smarter than the average bear....

That too is interesting. Maybe that particular micro sd card is locked down by Verizon and Motorola as well. :D

You can get the same card at this site with free shipping if you're OK with the $138 price tag.

I care more about the site I'm buying from than the price tag tbqh. I've never heard of erwincomputers, so for all I know it's just some d-bag with a GoDaddy website selling fake cards.

EDIT: Good news, I just checked my order status and my sd card is on a fedex truck out for delivery :) so I should get it sometime today, but I really don't expect it til late tonight.

Strange that I never got a "your order has shipped, here's the tracking number" email.

I'm anxious to see if this works for you because my SD Card is all but filled up... can't back up any roms... not good since I'm a certified flash-a-holic. Seriously though, I don't know why it's full since I deleted all but my most recent backups and all media. I need this card if it works!

You know, midget porn takes half the space right? That's what I tell my users. Midget port uses half the bandwidth, unless they're surfing midget donkey porn, that's full sized packets..... :D:p

Found it on VerizonWireless. If I do a search for it, it says it is $49.99 but when I hit the "buy" button it goes to $74.99. Oh what fun! Took awhile on the phone with the rep and he had to manually credit my account for the $50.00 but I finally got it for $49.99. Thanks for the tip. Now to wait and see if it really is the 32 GB card or a 16 GB that was mislabeled on their site. Thanks for the tip anyway even if you did mean to post it somewhere else!

lol @ the "people like you" comment. way to stick your head up your ass there, sir pompous.

nothing wrong with looking for the best deal. i ended up ordering it through vzw's website, and i'll be getting it delivered overnight for $125 and some change.

but hey you stick to your high horse and pay full retail for it, because that's what "people like you" do.

tool...

Will you please let us know if the card you ordered on the Verizon site works in your Droid? Thanks!!

I just ordered that 32 GB card too. Had to "go all around the world" to do it though as when you click on "buy" the price jumps to $74.99. Finally the phone rep manually credited my account and told me to purchase it the usual way through the site. So that means that I got a $50 credit from VZW and my regular discount of 25% too plus free overnight shipping. And my email confirms it is for a 32 GB memory card. Wow. I got a 32 GB card for $30.99 including tax. I think I am in shock.

I had the web page pulled up showing the $49.99 price and called Verizon and spoke to a rep. It took him quite a while to first find what I was seeing for himself and then get a supervisor to approve a credit to my account as they couldn't change the price online. Then he told me just to click the "buy" button and pay for it my usual way. I did tell him that I got an employee discount through my work but he didn't seem concerned. I verified that my next bill coming due in August has definitely been reduced by $50.00 and my emailed receipt is for $80.99 which includes $6.00 tax. I also typed in the code for free overnight delivery. (FREEOVERNT) That means that I got that 32 GB card for $30.99.
Hope you can get the same deal.
