Hello, I might get this phone this weekend. I live in Los Angeles, and every verizon in my area has them in stock. So I might just get one this weekend.

This will be a big step for me to move to Verizon, since I love t-mobiles customer service.

If you purchased this phone, are there any known issues I should know about, that might sway my decision not to get the phone?

Build quality?
Reception Issues?
Software Glitches?
Recalls? i.e possible iphone death grip?
Bad screen quality
Poor battery life
Faulty anything?

Any flaws, let me know!

thank u

My impressions:

*Build quality is beyond unreal, the best built phone I've ever held.
*It gets better reception than my Droid Incredible did.
*The UI is a little choppy, but loading apps and actual app performance is stellar. Launcher pro makes the UI smooth as glass but I'm not comfortable with using a 3rd party UI overlay. I'll wait for a fix.
*No chance of a recall, this thing is extremely solid
*Screen looks great
*It probably gets twice the battery life of my Droid Incredible at stock. I was completely baffled by how amazing the battery life with it is.

Aside from the somewhat choppy user interface(which I expect to be fixed in the future since it's just a software issue) the phone is completely flawless.

I am looking at the X, the Incredible, and the EVO too..

The Incredible is faster than the X.. anyone who says otherwise has no idea what they are talking about. But that is Motorola's fault, not Android.

I've read some really bad reviews on the X in terms of poor camera quality, slow to take pictures. Then I've heard the Incredible and EVO take better pictures and much faster - but can be blurry sometimes. So mixed.

It sounds like the Moto X has a little better sound quality then the Incredible, but I'm also hearing complaints about the X.

The X does have a good build - but not the greatest. Same with the Incredible. Both really solid and good to feel. The EVO lacked here though. Been hearing problems about it more than the X and Incredible.

In terms of UI, Evo and Incredible beat the X. They are simply faster.

The X is getting reviewed by both CNET, Engadet, Gizmodo, and users reviews as having a slow, choppy UI. Just not as zippy as the Incredible.

In terms of battery life, you can get a 1500 mah or 2150 mah for very cheap for the Incredible and Evo so that doesn't matter. With those batteries, I've seen Incredible and EVO users get amazing battery life.

That makes it a wash. I'd say go for the Incredible or the X. They don't have many differences except that the X is bigger (can be a negative or positive).

The other huge negative is Motorola has decided to lock the 'X'. Developers are flocking away as Motorola has decided that they don't want their device rooted, rommed, or flashed.

This means that the 'X' will NEVER get an early Froyo or Gingerbread update. If you try to load a custom rom, your phone is bricked. There are many other bad implications that I don't have time to explain.

As far as I'm concerned, Android should stop giving their platform to Motorola.

Here, top developers on Moto are proof:

p3droid is the messiah of hacking droid..

How the Droid X is locked down? Let me tell you what I know.

The X is faster than the Incredible. What you and many are confusing is how smooth the stock UI of the two phones are for actual device performance. This is a software issue and has nothing to do with the hardware of the devices. HTC's Sense merely runs at a higher frame rate than Motorola's implementation. The X still loads and runs apps faster. Further proof that it is merely a software issue is if you put Launcher Pro on the X, it will be perfectly smooth, smoother than the Incredible.

The X outperforms the Incredible in every single benchmark test in every single category. In CPU tests it is something like 50% faster and in 3D tests it is closer to 100% faster. Real world tests reflect this as well. Everything loads faster and apps run smoother.

Check out these tests: The Incredible is not in this test, but the Evo has the exact same hardware as the Incredible(same CPU, GPU, RAM, entire system on a chip is the same Snapdragon model), runs the same software, and gets the same scores so the test is a perfect 1:1 comparison.

Linpack:

Droid X: 7.67 MFLOPS
Incredible/Evo: 5.13MFLOPS

Quadrant:

Droid X: 1131
Incredible/Evo: 419

Nenamark:

Droid X: 22.9fps
Incredible/Evo: 10.3fps

This is as objective of a performance test suite as you can get, there really is no comparison between the two devices in terms of raw hardware power.
