Help Message Notification on Home Screen?

Yeah, I do have 'Email notifications' checked. That supposedly notifies me when an email arrives, which it does. I don't know why I have to hit refresh in order for it to actually work. Thanks though.

I wonder why there isn't a refresh automatically option.

Have you checked your gmail account sync settings? Is it set up to sync your email?

I'm having the same issue, most all of yesterday it was fine and on the ball, today around 10am I finally hit refresh wondering why I didn't have any emails, and bam - 32 emails. I looked and theres no conflict with the data profile only retrieving during certain times. I dunno...?

Hello All. I am an old Blackberry Storm user. I made the decision to jump to the Droid / Google OS. I bought the Droid Eris a few weeks back and really enjoyed the new format that comes with the Google OS and the widget system. I decided to trade up for the X becuase the Eris had some lag issues, not to mention the many great functions of the X.

Now for my question, I have the text message and email icon on my home page. This is how I have always done it. What I don't see with these icons is a number notification showing how many unread messages are in each mailbox. The messages are coming in and you can hear the notification but there is zero visual notification. Am I missing a setting somewhere? It is impossible to know if you have a new message in the folder if you didn't hear it or open the folder to check. Thanks for the help!
