Help Touch screen lagging, unresponsive when swiping.

I got my Droid X yesterday and for the most part I'm impressed. (I didn't realize how much I liked HTC's Sense UI until replaced my Incredible with this phone.)

So far my only frustration is the touch screen. When I'm swiping between home screens, or even in applications, it often doesn't register anything or it'll open the first icon I touch even though I'm swiping. Sometimes I have to press an icon a couple times before it'll open up as well. This is getting REALLY frustrating because I can't just do things quickly but I have to watch to see if what I selected actual opens or swipes, etc.

I've only installed a few applications, including LauncherPro. Is anybody else having any issues like this?

I know this is a dumb question, but did you shut down and start up again to see if that helped it. I had Droid do the same thing and a tech at the VZW store told me my phone was defective and swapped it out.

Yea I'm kinda experiencing this, also coming from a DI. I noticed that the DI was WAY more responsive as far as the touchscreen goes. I've tried both the stock UI and LauncherPro and both give a slight lag in swiping and selecting. Most noticeably for me at least, is when typing sometimes keys won't register and I have to re-press. But this could just be user error.

Yeah, I've restarted the phone and even done factory reset. I'm hoping it's a software issue that can be resolved with an update. If it's simply the hardware it may push me to go back to the Incredible. (I'll miss this wonderfully huge screen, though.) I'll give it a few weeks to see what happens.

I haven't noticed an issue when typing but I'm also trying out Swype for the first time so I'm learning anyways.
