i get notifications hours late sometimes. Sometimes not at all. If i try to dial *86 to access my verizon voicemail it takes me to my google voice voicemail and makes me leave a message even if i press pound. Also i downloaded the google voice app but it doesnt show up anywhere on my phone as far as i can tell... i hope someone can help me out because other than these problems i really like google voicemail

I have the google voice app installed on my phone, and I have no problem finding it.

Look for an App called "Voice" that's google voice.

As far as everything else, this is so counter to my Experience with Google voice... try logging into the Google voice website, and checking the settings to make sure you have it setup right.

thanks, i didnt pretty much state that in the post directly above you or anything - although still not entirely sure what setting would make a voicemail notification appear 2-5 hours after it was sent... maybe you could enlighten me?

What notification are you talking about exactly? Email notification? Or the Google Voice App notification?

I suspect you are referring to either notification via email or text message, and these may not be a big issue once you install the app.

The Google Voice App itself, once configured, will notify you of voicemails and text messages and it is pretty responsive.

i think its a notification from the app it comes up in the not. bar and when i drag it down it takes me to the GV app inbox. I've had the app on my phone since i got google voice i just couldnt find it in my menu until yesterday when you showed me where it was hahah... its been working okay yesterday and today, although am I right in guessing mobile net has to be working to receive vms?

The information is transferred via data, so you have to use your Mobile Network, or wifi connection.

If you've been turning off your Mobile Network, that would explain why it's taken so long to get your notifications.

no i always leave it on except the other day when i was trying to conserve some battery. yes all the settings are configured correctly unless i skipped over the one that says "notify me of voicemails 2-4 hours after they are left for me" lol - if the phone wasnt activated in GV i would assume i wouldnt receive voicemails at all :p
