Droid X and DINC have sold out!

Droid X has marketing and a better name. HTC incredible was just such a bad name. Make fun of the idea of discontinuing the inc all you want, fact is they got backlogged due to samsung hoarding amoled's, not because of overpopularity.

Considering the DI sold out in the first two days, there is no way to tell, because the shortages stopped it from taking off as a huge success right from the get go.

You sure do use a lot of absolutes for someone who as far as I can tell, is nothing more than some internet poster. What are your credentials, and how do you have such concrete information? The phone was sold out before it was released, and there were iPhone4/X sized lines at Verizon stores for it. I look forward to your response, thanks!

I have a droid x and an incredible. I was on my third incredible and it was getting tiresome.. I wanted a working phone, so my friend at verizon moved my upgrade date up to July 15, 2010 when I just activated with Verizon in April lol..so I got a new phone for $200 and I can ebay the incredible for $450, but honestly.. I might just ebay this droid x. My incredible is honestly a lot nicer. Smoother, feels better, etc.

It must be getting discontinued like the Incredible.

LOL! Did that crazy rumor finally go away? but yea, Now X owners will start to feel Inc and EVO owners pain....:(

too bad its NOT a better phone.

I'm not saying its a better phone, but tell that to former Inc and EVO owners that got the X and like it better. "One mans trash is another man's treasure"

Its all about preference, what works better for u, what makes it better for u.

And some of us helped troubleshoot someone that had a laggy X. Turns out it had something to do with the SD Card. As of right now, removing it ended any lag they saw. I suggested they re-format it before trying to get a replacement. Since they just got the phone, a replacement might be in order. Might as well....

I hope that ppl that get the Inc, X, whatever phone u get at least try it before passing judgment.

That's what is so great about Android there is a phone that fits everyones personality, budget and style.

Honestly if it has Android on it , it's a great phone IMO

While I would never own a mytouch I know a lot of people who have them and absolutly love them, people who have droids and sweat by them, etc... It's such a cool platform and I'm glad to be apart of it

Yeah, makes me wonder how many units they would have sold if they had been able to keep it in stock. The demand for the phone was phenomenal given that advertisements for it were virtually non-existent prior to release. I'm really interested to see how the new units with the new screens sell. These are great phones.

I was in a Verizon corporate store on the 14th. I asked if they had a DX set up for people to check out. He only had a dummy phone. My opinions of the phone aside, he told me something i found interesting. I asked if he had gotten any Inc's since the last time i was there, he said no and i dont think i will see another one. I asked why and he said "well the rumors are the it is phased out, i cant get my hands on one if i tried". I dont think he is right, but then he said this. "I think we will have the same problems on the DX, from what i have heard numbers are very limited, and nearly out of stock with no firm date on when we will get them."

Take it for what you will that is just what one VZW employee said....

When I got mine, it was the second day of release, and I called all the corp stores in town. Found 1 with limited supplies and they refused to hold one for me.

So I drove there with 20 minutes to closing, and found out they had three left.

I thought it would be np, until two guys in front of me, one after another, grabbed one.

I got the last one in town, out of dumb luck.

I played around today with the DX, I wasn't impressed. It's way to big. Steve Jobs took a jab today saying nobody wants a huge screen. Surprisingly I agree. I'm happy with my inc and I'm waiting to upgrade to a phone that is the similar size.

Oh I was playing with the DX UI. It is quick, but definitely choppy. Inc is so much more smoother. With froyo and the new OTA it's like were getting a new phone.

Selling tactics, man. Don't believe it for a second. You don't wait around for the Incredible to release, you buy a Droid X, and it's a quicker / definitate sale for them. Don't trust Verizon Sales Reps! I've seen it all. Lol.

No one should listen to Steve Jobs, I am sure he thinks the Incredible is too big as well. If the iphone doesn't have it then it isn't right, well at least according to Steve.

Also all phones have the antenna issue, according to him.

Man I just don't see what the difference is between the X and the Inc that people keep talking about. Maybe I will see it over time but the X so far to me just seems like a larger Inc. It's super smooth, no issues at all. I'm not regretting the move from the Inc to the X at all so far.

Yeah that's really all it is. If you want a larger screen, go with the X, if you want a smaller, more easily pocketable phone, go with the Inc. It's that simple.

I don't see one as much better than the other, they're just two different phones for two different niche's.

The only issue I have with the X is the locked bootloader. I personally would never pick one up because of the size (don't want a phone that big), but I would also be hesitant to pick it up because you may not ever be able to customize it like you can the Inc.

I haven't rooted yet (waiting for a very solid sense-free 2.2 rom), but it's good to know that if I want to, it's an easy process and I will have a lot of choices to choose from when it comes to customizing my phone.

We may even get gingerbread well before the X in the form of a custom rom due to the locked bootloader that, from what I've read, may never be cracked.

I'm waiting on a solid 2.2 rom, but I rooted with Unrevoked3 , super easy and my phone is getting great battery life and performing slightly better with the Hydra Kernal. Also wifi teather and a good flashlight app are very very handy. You should just root it now enjoy the benefits while waiting for the new rom, plus it will be that much easier when a solid rom comes out.
