Samsung Moment and HTC Hero now both $99.99 at Best Buy

I was browsing the hero forum and noticed that bestbuy online was selling the hero for $99 with a new activation. It also looks like the moment is selling at that same price. Even though most of us probably did an upgrade/contract extension, I wonder if there is any way we could get the store to match that price without having a new line activation?

Wait...is this for NEW activations only? What about upgrades? I searched the site and selected upgrades, and it changed the price back to 179.99...booo!

But...toefer said he did a upgrade and got his money back...so I'll try.

Yeah, they had a special Reward Zone thing tonight, where they re-opened the store from 7:30-9:30 for people with invites (I assume if you had a certain number of RZ points you got invited), so I went for that, and while there noticed the $99 price on the Moment (I was in that area, looking for some sort of case for the phone).

So I asked about the sale price, and they were more than happy to help me out and refund the difference. No questions asked (well, except for "How do you like the phone? It's pretty cool, right?"). Since I paid with a debit card, they just gave me the ~$88 (after tax) back in cash.

When I bought it on Saturday, I paid the $179 price after extending my contract for 2-years, so I wasn't a new customer.

I told the Best Buy guy I found out about the sale price through this forum, and he laughed, then mentioned how it's not in the Sunday ad, but the price is effective through the rest of the week.

Hope it works out for you.

I read the press release, then went to the Best Buy site and confirmed that the moment is being offered for 99.99.
I then called sprint to see if they would credit me the difference, but alas, all the CS rep would say is that I would have to return the Moment to the sprint store where I bought it and re-purchase it at BB.
Does anyone know if sprint (or a sprint store) HAS a price match guarantee?
This phone is 6 days old. If I return it to the sprint store, there is a $35 re-stocking fee, which cuts into the price difference a lot.

I went to bb today. The price tag does say 179 with up
grade and 99 for new 2 year. I asked the clerk if there was anyway I could get the 99 dollar price with a 2 year upgrade, she said she could. So then I told her how I already bought the phone last week and asked if she could do a price adjustment. She took my receipt, came back 5 minutes later and said she credited my card back $84! Thnks OP and BB!

I am in the same situation.

Sprint would not credit me any difference , and Best buy was adamant that it was for new lines only.

Same, I got shot down too.

I'm about to return this phone. It barely works in my house and I'm frustrated at how flaw-ridden the phone is. I sent an email to Sprint Exec support and they have a retention associate giving me a call at some point tomorrow. It's a long story, but between calls and my latest email, the solution I have is for Sprint to give me the Airave, I'll pay the $5/m for it and stick around with them.

The point is that when factoring the Airave price in and the inability to refund my $80, I'll save money on Verizon with my corporate discounts and can get the Erid at $100.

The math is basic for me. Common sense needs to intervene here. I'm begging Sprint to help me out here, I don't see why that's so hard for them to realize this.

If you have no coverage at home why would you ever stay with a carrier?

I LOVE Sprint and would be very sad to leave, but if I got no coverage I'd leave in a heartbeat!

I moved a couple of months ago and my old phone did work at my new place, but not very well. This new phone will have maybe 1 bar.

The point is that I'm begging Sprint to give me the Airave and they're not relenting as of now.

It sucks, actually. I'm a Premier customer so I can get an upgrade annually versus every two years and I also happen to like Sprint.

They're bleeding customers and I'm being pretty fair with trying to stick around, but if they don't budge, I will move on.

The airave is a piece of cake. I got one about 5 months ago...free.

Called C/s and they wouldn't help me. I called Account Services (Customer retention) and explained that I wanted to get rid of my home phone but couldn't because inside my house I had no reception. I had to walk outside to get a consistent signal.

The person from account services took care of it. I had the airave in 2 days and I get charged 4.99 per month and I get a credit for 4.99 a month. I have 5 bars of signal!

That's exactly what I'm looking for....

Here's the reply I got from their executive support:

The Sprint AIRAVE device is available at Sprint retail stores . You can
visit Sprint AIRAVE or a Sprint retail
location for more information. I am sorry but it is not possible to
offer you the Airave device for free. You can visit the Sprint retail
stores to purchase it.

I even offered to pay for it monthly, I just don't want to put up the $100. Given this, the more I think of it, the more it's worth returning the phone.

The Droid is $150 on Wirefly and the Erid is $50. I still get a 18% corporate discount on the service, so it will be cheaper.

I bought a Moment Saturday at BB, for the $179 (w/ 2-year extension). I went back today and got the $80 + tax back without a problem.

Did you already fulfill your contract. I still have till April before I fullfil my 2yr. contract and get a full discount. but I always thought as long as I do a new 2-year extension I can get a full discount even if I'm a few months short.

I don't remember when my contract ended, but it wasn't anytime soon. I was eligible for a new phone (the $75 credit, or whatever it is), and Best Buy sold me the Moment for $179 back on Saturday, just for extending my contract another 2-years.

It's possible (and based on some posts in this thread, likely) that they shouldn't have given me the $99 price when I went back yesterday, so that part of it is certainly YMMV. So I'll consider myself lucky (though I know another guy in this thread had a similar experience, and got the $80 refunded).

Ok, so I just went to Bestbuy after work and printed this off:

Best Buy Cellular Solutions-: Device Details

I got my pricematch on both of my moments. It was around $180 back to my bestbuy credit card. Just walked in went straight to the customer service area laid down the above printout and my receipt, and the lady said no problem. She even had to get a manager override to finish the process.

...and btw, I have been a sprint customer for over seven years.

I felt like I had won the lottery when I walked out of there.
