Help Issues with the X

I came from the dinc and by far the X is so much better in many ways. So far the battery life is much improved over the dinc and motos UI has some nice features over HTC's sense. At first I i was a little taken back but after customizing my X it really beats out my Dinc. The call quality is better by far and with the larger screen typing is much easier. The big difference I notice is that the X is a little slower not like the Dinc which was too fast and jumpy for me I made alot of mistakes on the Dinc.

I haven't had any of the problems you're experiencing.

I think it's all a matter of personal preference. I was waiting on a Dinc when I switched to the X, and I'm not sorry I did. Yeah, the X is a little bigger than I wanted, but after having it for only a few hours, and then playing with a Dinc at the VZW store, I was already so used to the X screen I can't imagine having something smaller.

My Husband and I both got our X's yesterday afternoon- mine worked perfectly right out of the box- a few minor glitches trying to figure things out...I came from the Droid. My hubs will need to have his phone replaced which is already being taken care of. It's already locked up 4 times last night. Tried to remove the battery- I had to use a small thin nail file to gently pry it out. Still locked up so then called Verizon and we did a hard reset. It's working ok now but not like it should. I have an AWESOME Verizon rep that gave me her email address so if I have an issue I email her and she calls me within 15 minutes (I don't go in the store unless I absolutely have to). What a refreshing change from other companies I've had to deal with. Anyway. I've not had any of the phone issues- it is absolutely crystal clear- there is no static when the other line is ringing..no echo..just crystal clear. The speakerphone volume is LOUD I have to turn it down and ringer volume is loud...I've not tried the camera yet but will today. So far, so good.

At first glance, the Incredible looks nicer out of the box. Sense UI is gorgeous. But the hardware on the X is better. After customizing, the X gets close to the Sense experience with better overall use.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but here's what I've found so far:
Much better camera
Bigger screen makes typing a breeze, and better web browsing.
Better call quality and reception.
GPS reception is a push

The real winner is all of us consumers, who have two excellent phones to chose between.

Beauty is truly in the eyes of the beholder. The range and variety of priorities for different cell phone users is extremely wide. If this weren't true, it stands to reason the cell phone companies would standardize on one cell phone design.

I tried the Inc for a couple of weeks about a month ago. I thought it sucked horribly. The screen was too small, the battery life was simply terrible. Call quality was awful.

I've been using cell phones for over 20 years and the X is far and away the best overall phone I've ever used.

I came from the DInc - the X is better.

You can actually USE it without worrying about the battery crapping out on you.

The charging port on my DInc cracked after only 2 months of use.

With that said, it's weird but whoever posted on here that the 'lag goes away after a day or two' is RIGHT. It's alot smoother now, than what it was on day one. Now, it's very peppy with no slow downs whatsoever.

LOVE THE X

Did you remove the black sticker with the tab that read 'Do not cut'? That tab is there to help take out the battery. I initially took it off myself. Glad I didn't cut it as i was able to put it back. :)

Terrible labeling on it IMO...should read "Do not remove".

Had the Incredible for a month and returned it for the X.. I loved the Incredible it was a great phone, but the X seems better to me. We all know about opinions, but that is my initial thought... it just seems like a better phone.

Before you switch back I would remove the battery and reboot and even do a factory reset to see if you have an app causing some trouble. Ruling out a user related issue would make good sense before jumping ship.

I had the Inc before I got my X on July 1 and to me the X is much better.

Me to i love how people jump on the bandwagon of a new phone then a day or two later are complaining saying Im going back. Well go ahead you wont be missed im sure there are plenty who will be very happy u are returning your phone so they can get it. And if you never heard they have OTA's to fix those kind of issues and are sending one out starting the 19. But good luck with the inc

I'm in the same boat as your husband. My died really quick and I went to Verizon to try a new battery really hoping that was all it was. My replacement phone has been ordered as well.

Last night I decided to just take the battery out a couple of hours and try again. It powered on, and the battery read 0%. I quickly plugged the power to it and as it started rising, I was actually able to start using my DX again. Of course my DX isn't activated now as I reactivated my original Drod. But I looked at some of the widgets and my home screens for really the first time. I thought maybe, just maybe it was the battery after all. Then I set the phone so that it stay on all the time while I charged.

I woke up this morning and the phone was completed dead again. I tried to power it back on and it came back but went directly to this message:

Bootloader
27.01
Err: 45,69,35,00,23

Battery OK
OK to Program
Connect USB
Data Cable

I have no clue what any of that really means, but I assume I have a hardware problem for sure and it isn't the battery.

So, I wait again to get my Droid X. Upset yes, but hey....it happens. We were just the unlucky ones.

Its a phone. Everyone has a right to choose whatever they want. The OP just offered his opinion. How does he get bashed for that?? I mean do you take it personal because someone chooses not to like the phone? Does that hurt your heart or something? Do you have to justify buying a phone by flaming everyone who doesn't support your views? Geeeeeeeeeez, get over it.

BTW, not directed at any specific person but just my 2 cents.

I agree. Its helpful to people like me who are on the fence about DX vs. another phone, and honest first impressions from actual users, whether they are good or bad, are useful.

Good thing no one here is a fanboy. Otherwise we'd only allow posts that promote the DX.

I'd get the phone replaced and try that for a week.

Never had a complaint with my Dinc, except battery life. Although I loved the Dinc's UI, the only thing I'm missing now is the animated weather (windshield wiper when it rains).

Really enjoying the X's bigger screen, bigger keyboard, bigger battery. Just wish more accessories were available. Bought a case/holster at Verizon today that I hate, just because I need something.

FWIW, the X's blur sucks tho. I'm running Launcher Pro.
