Replace HTC Lockscreen, an Incredible Find!

Hey folks..
Like a lot of people, I've never been real happy with the HTC lockscreen design. I'm referring to their "swipe down to unlock" sense looking lock you see when waking up the screen. I much prefer the android lockscreen that you swipe left to right to unlock, or right to left to mute. Besides the appearance, I seem to unlock it a lot by accident when pulling out of my pocket. Well, if you're like me in this respect, there is a solution in the market. Widgetlocker! Not only does this replace the HTC lockscreen, but it allows you to move widgets to your lockscreen!! Been using it a few days now, and absolutely love it! It's smooth, small footprint, works with live wallpapers, and is highly configureable! Example: HTC lockscreen can be bypassed by simply bumping the menu key. Not with Widgetlocker. (unless you want to enable it), Another great feature is it allows you to wake up the screen by pressing the trackball/trackpad! Definitely worth a look if you want a more slick lockscreen!

the best thing i have found about this is you can enable the volume controls to work at the lock screen. that is a plus for me, now i don't have to slide to unlock just to adjust the volume when i get to work. and i like having the old slider back, where i can mute to the left. i do not mind the sense slider, and might go back to that. i'll have to sit with this a while. but thanks, very nice.

Just bought this app and all I can say is IT IS WELL WORTH THE MONEY. I can't say how tired I was of having to unlock my DInc by the button at the top of the phone!

I love the fact that you can put widgets on the lockscreen and customize it any way you like with different features for unlocking your phone!

Thanks so much for finding this app and sharing the word this should be a big hit!!!!

I don't see any of the HTC widgets (specifically the clock) when I try to add widgets to the lockscreen.

yeah, i did not see them, either. i'd love to have the clock/weather widget there, but no go. i have a zillion clock/date widgets, though, so i used another (divi clock, which gives me instant access to my calendar and/or alarm clock).

how are you unlocking it now? i can unlock it with the top button and the volume buttons. i've found that the trackball only works if i hold it down for several seconds. am i missing any other way to wake?

Can you interact with widgets on the lock screen? If so, is your phone really locked? or is the point to not lock the phone in the first place?

you can interact with the widgets on the lock screen, that is the point. if the widget launches a program, then you can hit the home key after that and it will take you to the home screen. so in that way, you can either unlock it with whichever swipe you pick, or you can "unlock" it with an app activating widget. but if it's a widget that just toggles something (like my "screen on" and my "car mode" widgets), then it will just toggle those things, but you still have to swipe to unlock. so the phone is really locked, but you can bypass the lock via some widgets. hope that makes sense.

I think the several seconds thing is to keep you from doing it by accident. Lockbot is the same way.

I LOVE this app!

I'm actually finding this out now too for some reason. When I first got the app a while ago, I just had to tap the trackpad and it woke the phone flawlessley.

I just went to wake the phone and now it doesn't always work...I have to press it several times or even hold it down for this feature to work.

I just emailed the developer so hopefully he can fix it so this works 100% of the time as this is IMO one of the most appealing features of this app, especially for us DInc owners who find it cumbersome to wake their phones with the button at the top of the phone

Thank you "whitewallman" for the heads up.....what a cool motherf&^$ng app !!!! now I can hit pretty much almost any key to wake up the phone and with the previously purchased Beautiful Widgets app see the weather right then and there without unlocking, also added the battery meter widget along with temp monitor and camera for quick and easy shots !!!! cool !
