Help Speaker is terrible on Droid X

Ok, now I've had time to listen to music on the Droid X and I ain't liking it. I'm comparing it to the iphone and it's so weak in comparison. Is it just me or do others feel the same way???

I came from a Blackberry Storm and no speaker on a phone will ever live up to it. That phone had the loudest speaker I have ever heard on a phone. My Have had all droids and none of them comes close.

Also louder while on the handset.

I feel that the sound is fine on the phone. I am not sure if other phones are better, but the iphone was so bad that anything sounds good to me now.

Coming from the original Droid, I think the speaker is quieter, but higher quality. It seemed like I got a lot of annoying treble in my Droid, so much so that I never turned it up all the way or it started to sound bad. I'll take better-quality sound over louder low-quality, personally.

Yeah, the Droid X speaker doesn't crackle AT ALL even at the highest setting. Best cell speakerphone I've ever heard.

Droid X speaker sounds really nice. The TP2 with the internal amp was louder.

Coming from an Incredible, its crap. Sorry, that's just the way it is. For a big arse phone the speakerphone is weak. My Incredible earpiece and speaker were way better for calls and music.

I had the Moto Droid, and that speaker was MUCH louder, even turned down a notch or 2. I loved it because I could play music while I hiked, with the phone on my hip. The X I can barely hear on my hip

The sound is good, but very quiet for me too. At least compared to my previous phones. (DInc/iPhone3GS)

I don't listen to music through the speaker, so thats not a problem, but watching videos in places where there's even a little bit of noise makes it hard to hear at times. Hopefully once I get a new set of IEM's it won't be an issue. Is a little disappointing though.

Mine too. If this was fixed I'd be on board!! Use my speakerphone all the time, big letdown.

I have NEVER used the speaker phone function on any phone I've had, but I've used the Droid X speakerphone 3 times in the past 24 hours. Sounds great, other party says I sound fine. DX has me hooked on speakerphone now. No problems here.

Dang! I'm going to buy a smart phone before the end of the year and I'd narrowed my choices down to the X with the iphone 4 coming in second but if the X has volume problems, I'll have to reconsider. My Samsung Alias 2 is LOUD. I back its volume down two notches from its max for calls.

I hope the majority of the Xs are loud enough for me or a future software update corrects this.

I want some more time to use it before saying anything for sure. However, the Droid X does seem a bit quiet for me. Testing side by side, it isn't as loud as my HTC Incredible was.

Exactly my point.......can't hear music or ringtones very good.

My first Blackberry Storm was loud as hell, but playing the movie trailer that came with the phone, blew the speaker in a matter of 2 - 3 days. I returned it, got another one and almost blew that one too... But then I noticed in an update that the max volume got lower. SO with that said, I'm not sure if Moto just over played it safe to prevent the speaker from "popping", or set it too low by mistake and can possibly fix in an update. I've turn the EQ to boost the treb. with high hopes I won't miss a call.

The Moto Droid the ring was so loud I could hear it at work np. (construction) I can tell this one will need the vibrator on.
