Accessories Wall Charger

I bought another OEM charger, Motorola SPN5358A off eBay for about $5.00 I figured I would take the one it came with to work for my desk.

I have old blackberry storm USB cable. I use it for work. it connects to the X just fine.

Also, I copied and pasted it on the ebay search box - Motorola SPN5358A. It doesnt bring up anything.

I always leave my X on my nightstand by my bed. It aint long enuff for me to use it while im in my bed reading emails. I have to disconnect the USB cable to read emails. PITA

While the "standard" voltage for USB is 5 Volts, there is no standard Amperage.

The Amperage for the Wall Charger that was supplied with my X is 850 milli-amps (that is 0.85 Amps). That is considerably more amperage than any of the other Micro-USB chargers that I have in my home. I assume that Motorola provided this higher amperage charger due the X's higher capacity battery.

This is not to say that a smaller amperage charger should not work, but a higher amperage charger will re-charge your battery more quickly. It is possible that if you are using a low amperage charger, that you will not fully charge your battery within the time that you have it plugged in.

I have a large number of blackberry chargers and they are all 700mA. I probably keep using them rather than buy droid X specific ones, but they do not charge as fast as the one that came with the device.
