30% then switch to auto or full for bright sunlight using Dazzle Switcher.

That's Dazzle at the top. Very customizable! Good switching app. It just won't toggle GPS for some reason where other apps will.

yeah those of us who had Eris(s) from the very beginning on here figured out rather quickly that this was one of the better ways to improve battery life.

Dazzle is AWESOME!!!! I love how you can have a little pop up for brightness that you can use a slider to adjust or just quickly go to max brightness if you walk outside

Used it on my Eris for a month or so. No change in battery usage! Of course I first heard about the app here in the Android Forums!

I use the Android power widget. Lowest light setting most of the time, outside i use the second setting. Never really use full brightness.

I'm trying to bring up the battery life to what I had on my Eris, with the 1700 batt. Took off the weather widget today, hopefully it will make a difference tomorrow. Also I tweaked the battery settings and changed it to power save mode. Any idea what the difference is aside from the backlight and not having the option to stop data sync during certain hours?

I haven't gotten mine (or even ordered it yet) Since my wife works for Verizon, we weren't eligible for the early upgrade promo, so I'll have to wait untill the 29th before I can order mine. So I'm still in cracked screen hell for now!

Bummer, dude! I actually scammed on my wife's account...her contract end-date was 7/29, so I was able to use her's (the sales associated didn't know the rules until I explained it to her).

Its worth the wait, my friend...the X is really a sweet little device...still love my Eris, but the X, oh, my! (you are in for a treat).

I set mine close to minimum for indoors and use a brightness widget to bump it to 100% for outdoors etc.

heh on a side note, my wife has an Ally as a Coordinator phone (given to all tier 2 reps). After I broke my eris, she let me use it for a week, I subsequently dropped it and cracked the screen as well I'll be scared to even touch my X when I get it!
