Help trouble answering a call

my wife says that sometimes when she has an incoming call and the phone is already unlocked it will give her an option accept or decline. she claims the touchscreen is unresponsive and she is unable to answer the call and she has to call the person back. anyone else have this problem?

i've had that happen and the screen goes blank immediately, even when i push the on/off button - seems to lag, annoying also.

hopefully its some kinda bug that will be fixed with a software update. i hate the trouble of having to exchange it for a new phone and having to start all over.

Our phones are less than a week old. Both of us had the problem of being unable to answer incoming calls last night. You press the answer button, hard or soft, repeatedly, and the screen is completely unresponsive. It rings and rings and rings until the call goes to voice mail.

Very frustrating!

However, he recharged his, and I changed out my battery, and the phones are once again responding to the ANSWER button press.

Fingers crossed it won't happen again.

another known bug of the phone. really no fix for it other than pulling the battery or restarting the phone.

Happened to me for the first time yesterday (over 1 month ownership). My iPhone 3G used to do that all the time so I don't fret it.

Mine does this when locked.

Phone rings while in pocket. Pull out of pocket and try to answer by swiping the "lock" button down, but screen and all buttons except for the power button are unresponsive. If I press the power button it goes straight to VM, which means I have to call them back. This is definitely unacceptable in my job as calling back many of the people I deal with usually means being put at the back of their return call list and waiting another 1.5+ hours...


This issue along with the constant dropped calls and bad call quality are making me rethink the incredible

I have had a similar problem, and it has happened to me twice now. The phone starts to ring, and when I go to answer it, the screen is completely black and totally unresponsive. Not even the power button works. The phone continues to ring until I pull the battery on it.

Ditto. Any updates for this problem?

This happened more frequently in the beginning, but still happens. Frustrating having an incoming call and see the slide down to answer option, but it doesn't respond, like the screen is "dead". After the call goes to VM and the DINC goes dark, hit power button, unlock swipe and call the person back.

Hasn't happened to me since my original problem. Not sure, but GUESSING, that it happened then because the batteries were drained.
