Graffiti for Android

I just found Graffiti for Android in the Market. I had tried MobileWrite and it was, erm, so so... not what I was looking for. Graffiti for Android is a real IME (input method, a "keyboard"). It works just like the real Palm Graffiti and the silkscreen input area looks the same. I learned Graffiti in a heartbeat years ago and used it for those years. I retired my Sony Clie' when I got my HTC Incredible and even with my Swype keyboard, I missed Graffiti input. No more. This is the real deal, and works flawlessly as far as I've seen.

I am prohibited from posting a review so I posted this here.

In the undying words of Homer:
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG! :D

BTW ... here's a link to "Graffiti for Android" at Androlib.

Questions (and my own answers):
Q: How is the recognition? A fat finger is hardly the same as a pointed stylus.
A: Yes, it's rather excellent (at least on a Desire)! :)

Q: Is it possible to create (TealScript-style) custom strokes? Is it possible to enter all the strange chars such as tab, "•" and "

I'll say two things: Graffiti for Android kicks butt. It's just great. Brings me back to my Palm days and I'm surprised how "natural" writing like that is, and how much I remember.

Second, it dawned on me tonight as I was using Graffiti, that in the time it takes me to write an "R" I could have just written "the" in Swype. In other words, I can write a whole word in Swype in the time it takes me to write a letter or two in Graffiti.

But I'm not deleting Graffiti!!

I have not been able to work out how to get a full stop ".". Any ideas?
Double tap. The first tap puts it into punctuation mode, the second is the period. (Edited to add: Oh, I see the problem - sometimes the first tap doesn't register.)

This app actually works surprisingly well, and I was happy to see it was the "real" Graffiti and not the Jot-derived imposter. Swype really is faster, though.

I have an HTC Desire. For some reason, the double tap does not work, and I cannot get into punctuation mode.

Did the Incredible come with Swype ? I don't have it. I have tried SlideIT, and that worked really well, but it was just the demo which is now out of date. Still deciding whether to buy SlideIT.
Does a third tap make the period appear? That sometimes happens to me, and it's why I think the first tap isn't registering. I've tried spacing the two taps out more, and making the first one more of a press than a tap, but I can't be sure it's helping. Most of the time it seems to work fine on my Dinc, though.

For Swype you have to apply for the beta. The web page always says it's closed, but that didn't seem to matter.

Sadly, Graffiti seems even worse for editing Docs To Go documents than Swype is. I should've known better than to buy D2G after my experiences with later PalmOS versions; I doubt they'll be interested in fixing incompatibilities.

FWIW, SlideIT seems to have no problems with Documents to Go. I don't know what Graffiti and Swype are doing "wrong," but it would be nice if they could figure it out and fix it. Documents to Go is not the only application that Swype has problems with, BTW, so they are aware that there's an issue.

I like it too, and unlike Swype, you don't have to look at your device when using Graffiti. You can pretend to pay attention to someone while taking notes (;)) or you can watch a video/resentation without having to look away to type/swype.
