Help Epic or Moment

My upgrade is in November and considering how fast phones are coming (and going), mhy guess is there will be new models to consider by then. My personal preference would be to see something with significantly better battery life in lieu of faster-bigger-brighter but I doubt the industry is listening to me. That's why I have micro usb chargers strategically placed wherever I can. If I were buying today, the Epic would be the one with regrets for buying another Samsung device. I played with an Evo, too big for me and I still hate on screen keyboards.

Well luckily the Epic will have a slide out keyboard, which is why I'll get the epic over the Evo. Yeah the battery life will probably be my main concern, but Samsung has been good to me so I'm getting the phone. Just tryint to plan how I'm getting it.

I've been badmouthing Samsung products ever since I left the Moment (Samsung's offerings on Sprint have been truly dismal, the Moment just put me over the top).

But I've read that the Epic may be a world phone, if that's the case, then I will get one. I need a phone for when I travel to europe, and after owning a SmartPhone for 5 years strong, I really hate going back to a non-feature basic flip phone.

+1 Epic 2 may be close behind. Playing wait and see in Nov. NO matter, the moment will stay in the family. If/when I change, wife will be gettting my Moment.

While I totally understand your reasoning, I must remind you that it's also possible that right after you buy the Epic 2 the all new Samsung Apocalypse will be released; featuring 2ghz "Golden Eagle" proc. with full ATI integrated graphics, 4in 3D Mega-AMOLED screen, 10mp True HD 1080P camera, rumored to be fully android 2.7 compatible.

I'm just saying.... :D

I have 17 months left on my current contract and thanks to rooting, I'll likely stick with the Moment until my contract runs out and then buy whatever the latest greatest Android phones are at that time that I can get for a reasonable price and contract. Nothing that the Epic (or any other current or announced Android phones) is different enough from the Moment to make me want to spend money to switch at this point, but a lot can happen in 17 months. (Sure, there are "upgrades" currently available I'd like, but just none that I feel are revolutionary enough for me to need to spend money on).

more proof that sprint people dont know what they are talking about, went to the sprint store today to see what the epic looks/feels like in person, I told the worker it looks just like my moment, she said yeah except the epic does not have wifi.

Ok smart guy.. you want to bash Sprint employees. Why the heck would you go to a store to 'see what the epic looks/feels like in person'? What gave you the idea they had it in stock?

And with a few minor cosmetic changes it is similar to the Moment. Considering the employee hasn't seen it in person it isn't that far fetched. But you get all excited making other people look dumb huh?

not bad for a 1st post, I went into the store to get an "experts" opinion, I'm sorry I guess the people sellling the product are not supposed to know anything about it. also why wouldnt the employee have seen it, it was on display in a cabinet turned on, and no I wasnt trying to make the employee look dumb, I actually beleived her about not having wifi until I came home and did more research so dont get your panties in a bind.

Why did you go to a store to see it in person when there hasn't even been a release date?

You know as well as I do that not all the Reps are knowledgeable, and can tell when you are hearing something that is BS.

I wear boxer briefs... I still haven't been able to get them in a bind yet ;-)

Re: Sprint Store Employees: there's some who are on their stuff (and even then, they can't tell you anything they haven't been told) and some who make up isht wholesale outta their asses; unfortunately the latter appears to be the majority.

I've never been told anything by a SS employee that I didn't already know from teh Intarwebs; you gotta feel bad for people who do go into a SS and get the wrong staffer.
