OK so it's 8:00 a.m. July 15, I arrive at the store near Plaza Camino Real mall in Carlsbad 92008. First I got a free Droid X tote bag and than the service rep. that I spoke was able to speak with her manager so that I could return my extended battery because it was 1 day past the 30 day period. I'm not sure about you guys but all I hear is about how iron clad every policy verizon has about any little thing.

I am new to Verizon as of X release day. My gf has had Verizon for 7 years. We have gone to a few stores and had bad experiences where they were jerks. However, the one in Lake in the Hills, IL is WONDERFUL! Very friendly staff that has taken care of us extremely well so far!! And we got free donuts on launch morning from them :p

I have been an AT&T customer for 5 yrs, when they went to the limited data policy they lost me. I was not going to get a smartphone and have a 2 gig a month limit, I am sure that most of the time I will be above that.

I walked into the Verizon store at 2PM and switched over and got the Droid X. They waived the activation fees and were awsome. Thier coverage here is the best of any provider; win win for my wife and I.

Yeah I can attest to this, some verizon stores seem to be horrible, talking about corporate stores, just asshole people working there year after year, and other corp stores are great and treat customers as they want to keep them. Not sure why the crappy corp stores keep up and not get new employee's, the mangers must stay the same or something.

The corp store near me is amazing. I like almost all the employees and they are all fairly well informed.

The best moment I had there was when I returned the palm pre (right at closing time) and there was no end of trouble with reactivating my old phone (some deep system glitch)... long story short... there were about 4 of us customers there for close to and hour and a half past closing time. they all stayed - the whole staff. they made jokes, talked phones, tech, sports, politics... One customer was so pleased that he tried to give the employees a 6-pack of beer he had bought before coming to verizon. the manager refused (company policy). it was telling though. good people work there. they only had one guy there that sucked... and he lasted about a week. i have had good experiences almost every time.

there was a quote by verizon on a site not too long ago that said that anyone who had the current unlimited plan that it would be grandfathered but any new customers would get the limited once that happened. Can't remember where i saw it.. was a few weeks ago

I manage all the lines for my corporate account. I am in my local store at least once a month buying new phones, swapping phones or getting warranty service. I always receive great service. Sometimes I get a new CSR and have to walk them through what I want but they are always very pleasant. The key is to be patient with them, if you are in a hurry you can end up getting frustrated.

I have never been to a store (there isnt on in my town besides wall mart) but as for there phone customer service, its not perfect but compared to AT&T its great. I was also an AT&T customer for years, I had a Fuze that would just randomly shut off so I called to exchange it. They tried to tell be, because it had one pin tip sized paint chip I may be charged back for it and they recommended I live with the shutting off issue. After arguing with here for 45 min I finally said, send the phone and if I get charged back for mine I will deal with that bridge when I come to it. The ironic part was, I was never charged back but that was the final straw and I ended up selling the replacement and getting a droid

I've been a Verizon customer for quite awhile but I usually buy my phones on-line. I was interested in the HTC Incredible and walked into my local mall store on Apr 29 and asked if they had any in stock. They had three so I just bought one on the spot. The CSR was very nice and efficient. Got me resigned and out the door very quickly.

Unfortunately, two weeks later I had to return it because I couldn't get a signal at my home! Again, the very same CSR took my Incredible back, reversed all her previous work and told me to stay with Verizon for a while longer and I might see a Motorola phone that would work for me!

I waited and sure enough, I got the Droid X. But I didn't buy it from her, I pre-ordered from Best Buy. On the 15th, I picked up my Droid X and then drove to my local Verizon store to find some accessories. I walked in with my Droid X in hand and asked about accessories and they happily loaded me up! Very friendly store and certainly more friendly than Best Buy!

I have the Incredible and an original Droid. Actually I have 5 phones on my plan. 2 for me, 1 for wife and 2 for in-laws. I was going to be out of town on vacation and called the local store and they ordered me one on launch day the 15th for overnight delivery. They even held one that was in stock in case mine didn't show for some reason. I picked it up when got back home on the 17th. The store manager I know very well let me early upgrade. I have had nothing but great service out of the VZW reps along with great phone service from VZW and have been a long time customer. Don't plan on leaving either. Going to sell the original Droid which is still a great device. By the way when I get good service I don't mind to pay for it!!!

Over the weekend my Eris screen just stopped responding. The screen lock would not respond. All of this happened while out town, no less! Additionally, it happened AFTER VZW no longer does in-store replacements.

Yet, I'm a glutton for punishment, or there is some secret additive in the Eris that just keeps me coming back!

Unfortunately, "cuz FedEx doesn't ship on the weekends, we can't get you a phone until Tuesday," said the manager of the VZW store I went to.

My disappointment with this was that I had proved I was from out of town (I was in Baltimore for business and provided ID, plus the CSR had account info on his display).

I fully understand about the change in their replacement policy having replacements coming from a central warehouse. My issue was that being out of town and using the phone for business didn't mean much because "it wasn't a phone on a corporate plan." Again, unfortunately for me, my employer did away with corporate plans and now provides a stipend to cover cost of using personal phone for business.

So I'm still away from home until later this week and will not have a critical tool I use for my job. Meanwhile my replacement phone will sit at home until I arrive back from my trip. Great!!!

In all fairness to VZW, I have had wonderful experiences with the phone CSRs. The in-store reps leave a lot to be desired.

Oh. A rep asked me if he could throw away the box for my new phone cover for me. That was nice.

Unless you know you have to have the box to return the item if it is defective.
Actually the incident went like this:
-went to get new cover, old one ripped up.
-picked out new cover.
-guy asked if I wanted him to throw away the box it came in.
-I asked about the warranty on old cover.
-he says.......30 days..............and you have to have the box it came in. (oops)

He realized what he just did. I glared at him, went home, got old box, returned and made him give me a new cover.
Asswipe!

That is about the nicest thing that has happened to me at a Verizon store.

I've been with Verizon since they took over Alltell in this area several years ago. I have had great service from the couple of stores I've dealt with in this area.

One even helped me when I turned in a $100 rebate form 2 days past the deadline. They contacted the rebate center and got my rebate.

I'm a happy Verizon customer. My experience with the AT&T store when I was looking into U-Verse service convinced me that I have the right company for phone.

follow me on this one. i got my LG Ally about a week before the DX launched last summer. alternately loved and hated it (it's vastly under-powered), but decided to make the jump to the X via eBay. trolled the auctions for about a week before snagging one to the tune of $190.

got my DX about a week later, and as some of you may already know, it had the random reboot issue. played with it for a couple days to see if i could fix it myself; wasn't happening. so i took my defective unit into the local Verizon (corporate) store where i usually do all my business. one of the techs took a look at, watched it go through the reboot cycle a couple times, monkeyed with a couple things and then admitted defeat just like i had. his exact words were: "we don't keep replacement units in the store, but i can have one shipped out to you in a couple days, free of charge."

i don't know how i kept my jaw from dropping all the way to the floor. that particular unit had only been activated on my account 48 hours previously. they have to know that, right? i got jobbed on eBay, and Big Red was gonna make it right. all told, i spent less than $200, about 30 minutes in the store, and 2 days later i had a brand new phone that works perfectly.

i've spent a lot of time griping about VZW and some of their practices, but when it comes to service, they're pretty hard to beat (most of the time). i've been thinking about switching to Sprint when my contract comes due in a year, but this made me re-think those plans a little. plus, the reps at my local store are awesome. i can honestly say i've never walked out of there unhappy; a little peeved maybe, but that's usually because of corporate policy, not the guys and gals in the store.

I walk into Verizon stores to demo real, working phones. Whenever a salesman approaches me, I kindly respond "just looking". If they press, I put up a wall. Any transactions I make will be by phone or via the internet. In-store reps have proven to be shady and generally clueless. I can't possibly imagine how someone can make an informed decision in a Verizon store, when it's clear even at the corporate level that they market based on consumer ignorance. Anyone here that follows the blogs should know that Samsung canceled their presser next week (likely announcing their new tablet and Galaxy SII line-up for the US) because Verizon and AT&T did not want to undercut sales of the Droid Charge and Infuse.
