I have had my EVO since June 4th @ 9am and have loved it ever since. This past weekend my family and I went away and got a chance to use my EVO navigation and man, I love this thing even more.
Sidebar:
I get generally 22 to 30 hours on my EVO battery normal use I know there are super power users out there but that is not me. I am surfing playing with apps for maybe 1.5 hours. Checking texts and emails constantly normal to heavy phone calls.
NOT Rooted, Juice defender / App Killer and typical things turned off that everyone does to conserve battery as well as app maintence.

Besides that this weekend I plugged the phone into a car charger and was able to use without error (driver error excluded) navigation and maps and got excellent turn by turn directions, the AroundMe and Yelp Apps as well as the DolphinHD browser aided us in finding things quickly and with ease. This helps when you have a 3Yr Old and a 1 Year Old and in-laws with you.

My wife has the iPhone 3Gs and although it is a decent phone it is no Android and certianly no EVO. She could not even download move clips for the kids to watch on the crappy At&t network. While navigating during a long stretch of road the EVO on sprint downloaded with ease and continued navigation without missing a beat.

Took pictures and video all day @ Hershey park and had 40% remaining for the evening.

LOVE THIS PHONE!

I am not putting up with it my wife is. She is not tech savvy at all, and one thing that the iPhone is, is easy to figure out for the technology impaired. What comes with that though is the inability to recognize or slow evolving recognition that the iPhone and AT&T has some serious flaws.

One of those tech light bulbs went on for her when she could not get the video this weekend and I could while running navigation.

She likes the iPhone (still) and that's all that matters, at least I have my evo.

Ok. My wife's not tech savvy either. I always end up setting up everything to a point where she just has to use it. It was an easier adjustment from ATT for us though because I kept us away from iPhones because of the high cost, call connection failure rate, and we already had iPods.

If it's the multimedia features and you can get her to carry two devices (buy her a new purse to sell this one:), get her onto the Evo and an iPod Touch or Nano.

Though iPhone simplicity weighed in with my wife, once she actually saw and handled an Android she suggested moving faster. Funny, she wanted a Samsung Moment because it wasn't as wide or tall and had the slideout keyboard. But she trusted me that keyboards aren't necessary (I told her to show me the keyboard on our iPodTouch 2G - 'nuff said). She'd just gotten used to the one on a BB she uses for work. Then she compared the Evo to her BB 9000 and saw the size really wasn't that much different and the keyboard not that critical.

Glad you got your Evo. When Froyo comes, she's really going to be jealous. She'll switch then.
