Static on voice calls.

I wouldn't call it static, but almost sounds like something is rattling around inside causing distortion when using the earpiece. Sound like the same issue?

I've considered taking it back for a replacement since so many reviews raved of the audio quality in calls, and frankly I think mine is very poor. 39/09 manufacture date.

Yeah that sounds like it, but i have already swapped mine out.

It looks like the update on Dec 11th will fix this, from what people say.

I did and it bugged the hell out of me. Then I went to the Verizon store, ran into some problems and the lady told me that they couldn't change my phone unless the account owner was there. I came back home and the phone worked with no more static!
So my solution, step into a Verizon store and your phone will get scared, think it's going to be trashed, and then function propertly.
No seriously though, I don't know why it suddenly stopped the static after visiting the store...

I have been able to hear my calls just fine on my Droid, but this week nobody has been understand me. All of my phone conversations hav consisted of me telling somebody something, and their response being "Are you on a cellphone, I can't hear a word you're saying. Could you repeat that." "What I still can't hear you"...

Anybody else have this going on?

Had that a few times yes. When i told Verizon this, they tried to see if

duplicate the issue, but they couldn't and they told me it was just the software fighting their network..
