GSM waves' sound is heard through headset

Hi,

When you're making a call with a speaker near a mobile phone, you hear noises resulting from electromagnetic stuff, in the speaker. The problem is that I hear such noises in my headset. It appears as not normal, and also happens if I have the headset at the maximal distance from the mobile phone.

Is there somebody having the same problem as me? How to solve this? Is it normal?

Thanks.

I can't think that the headsets shipped with the phones are really of the best quality. Either that or I just HATE the one shipped with mine.

In other non android related news: I've been hearing that sound coming through my PC speakers every once in a while and its been driving me nuts. Good to know what it is finally.

Its a problem with all phones. Android, iPhone, Nokia, Moto, etc...
Yep. Well, all GSM phones do anyway. It has to do with the transmitter turning on and off rapidly, and it just so happens to produce a frequency that can be heard through electromagnetic devices (like speakers).

My CDMA based phone doesn't because the transmitter doesn't turn off.

But that's the headset which is shipped together with the phone, that I'm talking about!
And? The suggestion still stands. Try a higher quality headset with better shielding. Headsets that ship with devices are rarely top notch in my experience.

While all do, there's a significant difference depending on frequency. 1900 devices cause far less interference than 850 devices, for example. I can cause interference at 6 feet or more with an 850 device whereas the 1900 device (or the same device on 1900 if it supports both frequencies) has to literally be on top of the speaker (if that even causes interference).
