So I have done a bit of research before posting this question, but cannot seem to find an answer.

I connect the phone to the PC via the USB cable. I click the notification and select the option to mount the drive. Alas, nothing happens on the PC. I don't receive an additional drive, there is not an option to remove the hardware from the PC -- nothing.

I don't know what the deal is, but it's quite frustrating.

Anybody have any suggestions? For what it's worth, the USB port is fine as my iPod shows up as drive F when I connect it to the same port.

Sorry for all of the posts, but I do have an update -- not a solution, just more information.

So after connecting the phone to a Vista PC, the phone is now not even recognizing that it's connected to my PC, whereas before, it was. So now, the PC and phone do not recognize that they are connected to one another.

I've tried a different USB cable from an external HDD -- no go.

I've updated USB drivers -- nada.

I've tweaked a registry setting after reading another article -- no go.

All other USB devices (printer, mouse, iPod, external HDD) are operating just fine. I'm at the end of my rope here and nothing I seem to be reading online is helping me out. I've messed around with some of the settings on the phone, but am not really seeing anything that relates to data transfer or USB support. Help!

For what it's worth, I'm running XP with SP3 installed.

Whatever the problem is, this phone is completely screwed now. It won't retain a charge, even when hooked up to the charger, so now I can't even get it to power on. When I do have it hooked up to the charger, it will turn on briefly then power off before it even gets to the Android splash screen. The phone gets hot as hell when connected to the charger, so something is definitely amiss. Will take it to T-Mobile today and see if they'll just swap it out for me since it's been less than 2 weeks.
