Is there anything this phone can't do?

This is my first Android phone and you can see in my sig what I was using before my Droid X. Why would anyone want to hack/root this phone? It is the most customizable mobile device I have ever seen in my life. I DLed Act 1 video player and Rock player and every video I have thrown on here plays on my big bright clear screen from avi to a 2gb 720p m4v vid. I Dled App Launcher and bettercut and now I have fully customizable APP icons and OS altogether. I have a nifty barcode scanner for bargain shopping. I have a metal detector for checking for guns. I have my alarm clock. I have cool moving / interactive wallpapers. I have multitasking so when I stop my recorded radio show I can come back and resume it.

So far everything I have thought of doing with this mobile computer has been possible. There are APPs for everything you imagine this phone can do. I can tell you now I DID NOT have the same experience with my Ipod Touch and the Itunes app store. Btw... the Android market works way better than the Itunes app store from the phone or touch. In there you have to click to show 25 more apps and if you go into an app and DL it when you come back out you start all the way at the top. I hated app shopping on my device because of that.

Sorry for the rambling post just had to throw all this out there.

Many things:

-It wont show you the speed of dark.

-If you are a man, and you say something, and there are no women around to hear it, and you have a DX on you, you will still be wrong.

-If you are fat, the DX will not allow you to go 'Skinny' Dipping.

-If you see an endangered animal that is eating an endangered plant, and you have a DX handy, you still have a dilemma.

-the DX cannot mow your lawn (But the next update looks promising)

-the DX cannot hold your family afloat for a weekend of boating on the DX.

-the DX cannot upload your downloads through uplinking the server to send the upload which would then be a download.

-the DX cannot be isnt.

-the DX cannot be not. because if its not then it cant be is.

-it cannot make doughnuts square.

-it wont ward off gonorrhea.

-it wont get you away with doing a drive by in a hybrid car. (proteckt mother eARTH)

It doesn't apparantly play avi files, which is kind of a pain.

The first spec reports of it I saw said the camcorder recorded at 30fps, but the final release has only about 20-24 fps.. which gives you sligtly sloppy playback. I wish we had an option, since someone said that was to reduce file size. There are times I want the best quality possible.

But this IS an amazing handheld device!

It can't do 4G.

It can't do a good video chat (no secondary camera).

It probably cannot be rooted and custom ROMs added.

i would say that 4g isn't even an issue thus far, though when it is i am sure there will be plenty of software to take care of us

video chat, i would rather use my laptop but thats just me

it will be someday

It doesn't seem to work smoothly, in fact, far from it. It can't seem to provide a full day of reasonable usage before the battery dies. It can't seem to have well integrated apps that work as they should and are intuitive.

I guess if you're looking for a playtoy that challenges your computing skills, you've found the right device. If you're a busy professional who just wants something that works ... it doesn't seem to do that very well.

Actually I have AVI files and I play them in either Rockplayer or Act 1. They work perfectly.

People need to understand that Android isn't like Apples OS. Apples OS is for ONE phone. The Android OS is for aa wide variety of phones with way different specs and manufacturers. So be patient. There will be updates to fix any glitches. And since I installed App launcher I haven't had a single freeze or restart. The random battery life is an issue though. (one day get 10hrs doing everything and next get 4hrs doing not much) I am sure a update will fix the battery.

doesnt play flash stuff in the browser or run iphone apps
Lol.... ok. Flash coming soon. And the Android marketplace has apps that do everything the Iphone does. Hell the AMP has Apps that do way more than Iphone's. If you don't believe me... just read the first post in this thread. I had the Ipod touch So I know what the Itunes App store was capable of. BTW I just installed an app that lets me do a USB tether for my laptop to use my 3G for free and I didn't even have to root/hack/jailbreak my phone. Can you do all this with your Idrool? Nope.

Thank you please come again.

yo son i know thats coming soon but the thread asked what the phone cant do and as of right this sec when i post this it doesn't have froyo and i think its pretty funny that anyone can objectively say that android store is even equal (and you said even better than? haha) to the itunes store. i'm pretty sure people been saying that the android store is catching up, especially since openfeint is coming to the android store, but again as of right now hell naw dawg

also can you link that usb tether app here that sounds great
