Why the X stomps my"old" Incredible

1.) The phone actually works and has a good signal. This was my number one reason for making the switch. For me it is a phone first as I need it for work. I have service where I just didn't with my Inc. I used to have it with my Storm, but when I switched to the Inc I lost it.

2.) The battery doesn't even compare. The X kills the Inc and I bought the extended battery from Seidio.

3.) The wifi actually connects quickly. On my Inc it took forever for the wifi to recognize a network I had been connected to in the past. Sometimes I had to use wifi analyzer to get it to connect.

4.) I like the extra real estate and I wear it in a holster. While it is a little bigger, the weight and size haven't bothered me. I use my phone to browse the net a lot at home instead of turning on the computer.

5.) Slingplayer looks even better on the bigger screen and works in the car while moving.

6.) Car dock and desk dock. The Car dock hooked right to my Garmin friction mount and the larger screen makes it even better in the car.

7.) I'm using Launcher Pro+ so I don't miss Sense at all.

8.) Bluetooth voice commands.

Now the things that I miss about my Incredible

1.) Capacitive buttons

2.) The call sound quality was a little better, but not anything crazy

I don't regret the switch for one second except that now I have an extended battery and Seidio Innocase/Holster to sell.

Hmm... I have an opportunity to get the Droid X for (almost) free... Coming from the Incredible. You are really making me lean towards the Droie X... Hmmm. Its hard to pass up on that huge screen. Or maybe I'll wait for the next handset with a bigger screen and running vanilla android, not sure yet.

I just got back from trying out both phones in the VZW store. I love the SENSE U/I on the Inc, but overall the DROID X was just overall much better for me. I don't find the X's size to be to large at all. I prefer the size of the X to the Inc.

Everyone is different. I can't talk to much about battery life / handling stuff due to me only playing around in the store.

Good luck.

Try launcher pro. It has a lot of the same features as Sense. I don't really use the social networking integration, so if that's important to you it might change things.

Its going to take me a while to get use to the new button arrangements and I had an Eris for over 6 months. Kickin my a**.... I sure wish that moto's camera app was as fast as HTC's is, HTC did not go wrong at all in the development of the camera application, its amazing. The Droid X can now focus where you want it to by dragging the crosshair on your object and THEN focusing, which is a LOT better than the Droid was. The HTC camera app, you just tap on what you want to be the high priority focused object in the viewfinder and it fucuses ready to take an instant picture, works a LOT better.

Overall though, being as the different android button arrangement and not as great camera app as HTC, the droid is a true winner over my decision of maybe getting the incredible.

I have the X sitting right here, FedEx just delivered. I'm afraid to open the box. I have the incredible and I love it. Sense is awesome. Can the X be that much better?

^ Only u can decide that...lol Since u will be the one that have to use it.

Even tho I never owned the Inc. I feel they are both good phones. Each has advantages over the other. Each are similar to each other. To me, the X has hardware advantages over the Inc.; the Inc has software advantages over the X.

Just remember: its still has only been released days ago, it just got an OTA last night, today. Some problems ppl are having is from first batch syndrome.

No phone in recent memory had a flawless release.

Not bashing the X but I went to the VZW store on release day to buy one and while I was waiting I got to use the X. I didn't think it was enough of an upgrade to make the switch unless you really had to have the bigger screen, better battery life, 720pvids, and mobile hotspot. I wasn't thrilled with the hard keys either, they felt mushy.

Fortunately when I finally got helped they were out of stock. The wait is enough to push me till the next great phone while I wait for the Incredible to get the 720p and hotspot and/or 2.2 froyo OTA.

Could you explain further? This will be my main use of the phone other than SMS.

I go back and forth everyday on the X Vs. Inc and this is a big deal to me.

I'm not sure that I'm the right guy to answer the question. I know one of Sense's strong points was social integration. I use facebook and that's about it. There is social integration on the X but I really don't use it enough to say which is better. It may just come down to what social stuff you use and does the device support it. I'm sure if you ask the question in a post, someone with more knowledge than me can help you.
