Help Anyone find a good way to sync outlook notes yet

I miss my outlook notes. Anyone found a good utility to sync those?

Doesn't sync but there's a great one that will allow for copying them from PC to .csv file and into the app itself. Free. D@mned if I can recall the name. 'o' something.

It's OI Notes and it's awesome. Does not sync but at least lets you convert Outlook Notes to .csv and (via a separate .csv converter) pulls them into the phone app. Very slick and FREE!

yeh but doesn't solve the problem - people need to synch these over daily not one off events.

i have no idea why even though so many people want this application no one is offering one.

Agreed but this is the best workaround so far.

I created a contact called Notes. Then I went to my Notes folder, highlighted all the notes and drug them to any folder. It will prompt you for a few options. Choose "Copy here as message with text" It will then open up a new message with all your notes text listed in the body. Select all the text and choose copy. Then paste into the Notes section in the Contact. Works great. All information is there. Just refesh when needed.

this seems to still be an issue. I've got tons of changing info in Notes and Tasks I need to synch. Any good solutions?

It is my understanding that MS ActiveSync does not support the transfer of notes. Everything else it can do, just not notes. This is a lack of support on Microsoft's part not Google or any app developers. I encountered this same issue a year ago with my Palm Pre. I spent hours and hours searching the net trying to find out why.

Wish I had better news for you but unless MS changes something on the server side, live sync of notes is not going to happen.

Then how come my BlackBerry had no problem syncing notes? I love the Droid but I have to say the Blackberry was hands down way better at syncing the phone with Outlook (Contacts, calendar and notes). It seems to me to be such a basic feature I am really surprised it is so bad with Droid.

Half the time I plug the phone it it can't even find the sync program on my PC and I have to reboot both the phone and the PC to get it to work. Very bad. Should not be this way and Droid is missing out on a segment of comsumers that it could easily have.

I would also like to be able to sync my Outlook Notes. The reason the Blackberry is able to do it, while devices that use Active Sync are not, is because the Blackberry uses a different type of process to sync data. It doesn't use Microsoft Active Sync.

Activesync does support notes & tasks as Windows mobile devices have done for a while. A matter of Google adding it to their ActiveSync implementation.

RIM generally requires that you run a Corporate RIM server which ties into your exchange server which pulls the data that way. For PC to BB their client supports that along with their desktop software. Windows Mob phones have always had perfect integration with outlook, no suprise their.

For android outlook and exchange support is an after thought. I would require them adding it to the default mail client. Touch down for android supports tasks but I dont think it supports notes.

This product claims to do it all. I have not used it nor do I know the cost.

I just looked at link Haxcid mentioned - $39.95!! and it seems you need another version to sync google stuff...hmmm. I want more info before I spend on this.

I too need to access and Sync/Change Notes on a daily basis. Droid! I thought you did it all! My dumb Blackberry Curve did this! And I'm not crazy about the calendar function either...but at least it syncs for me.

I think the DNA is basically different for Android. You're using Google Docs as a repository for your mobile information instead of Outlook, and it very nicely syncs in the background to your Android. It took me a while to get into the new mindset.

I stumbled around with the Notes issue for a couple months. I had converted everything else to my Android. I really did not want to go to an add-on app, and thought it should be in the basic offering.

I now have all my Notes in a "hidden" spreadsheet in Google Docs. Each single 'Note' is now a cell in this spreadsheet. I have this hidden spreadsheet bookmarked in my Android browser so I can call it up at a moment's notice. I can edit the "Notes" spreadsheet on-line or on my Android. The only issue I have is that the Android browser seems to cut off the Notes spreadsheet at 250 rows. Once I take out a few old notes I'll be under 250 anyway. If this is a problem you might need more than 1 Notes spreadsheet, unless Google fixes this.

This solution will only work for people moving away from Outlook. If you're not, I would seriously consider it.

Exchange 2010 has the ability to sync Notes (and all other items) via ActiveSync without a problem. So the limitation now comes down to the Android OS which in my opinion will lack these abilities until the next major release or beyond...

Touchdown ($) does a great job of syncing email, tasks, contacts and calendar. I don't believe it does notes, but it does all the rest very smoothly. And has nice widgets to go with it.

No, there are other all-in-one solutions. gSyncit and MyLink Advanced do it also. The question is more of what you need synced and how you want it synced. Do you want a USB or wireless sync? I got this information by referencing the chart at www.syncdroid.net where they list all the sync solutions and their options. I suggest you print out that chart, follow the columns and scratch out the products that don't met your needs or highlight the ones that do meet your needs. Then you can follow the links to the software you like.

I took the suggestion of Emperor Crusher.

I found an app called MyPhoneExplorer.

The instructions are almost nonexistent. But, I had it installed and working in about 30 minutes.

I did a great job of syncing all of my Outlook 2010 Contacts, Calendar, Tasks and Notes to my HTC Inspire.

You have to install a desktop program on your computer and an app on your phone.

In your phone's apps listing, look for MPEnotes and MPEtasks. That is where you will find your synced notes and tasks.

The only cost is a PayPal donate nag screen when you exit the desktop program. I assume that if you make a small donation the nag screen will cease to exist.
