Accessories anti fingerprint film / vent mount options Droid X

I usually steer clear of the VZW brand screen protectors because I've purchased a few for different models and they were horrible, but I figured what the heck I wanted something on the phone the day I activated so I bought the 3 pack. I can't imagine finding a better one. It has a red outline so you can frame the screen perfectly when putting it on, then it comes off when you remove the outer film. It doesnt show fingerprints or oils and its anti-reflective so you can see the screen easier in well lit or outside areas. It was well worth it for this one. Maybe VZW chose a new vendor its usually cheap thin plastic that shows everything.

to me the only advantage of a screen protector would be the anti fingerprint. Gorilla glass is damn near scratch proof. I wonder what, if any, protection these would provide if you dropped your phone to keep it from cracking. I wouldn't "think" it would help, but right now I'm so terrified I'm going to drop another phone that I'd be willing to try anything.

Zagg is sticky and blurry. A coworker has it on his phone and highly recommended it for fingerprint reduction. I hated it.

I had Skinomi on my Dinc and although it was my first film, it was good, but occasionally I'd get a rainbow effect from finger oils, leaving me to believe there was something better.

Steinheil AF is good, doesn't seem to have any fingerprints at all, has a nice non-sticky finish, but leaves the display a bit washed out (decreased contrast) and a little blurry. If you absolutely want no fingerprints at the expense of a slight loss of clarity, this might be for you.

Completely agree, I have the Steinheil Anti-Fingerprint protector and while the feel of the protector and quality are great, it really really hinders the quality of the screen. The screen is washed out and blurry, I'm thinking of just ordering the crystal protector cause I can't take how much it affects the screen.

I went with the SGP (Steinheil) Anti-Fingerprint screen protector. It's got a semi-rough feeling to it (matte) but I have to say I haven't had to worry about fingerprints or smudges since I put it on. Initially you'll notice that it's a bit foggy looking but you'll mostly only notice that when the screen is off lol. When the screen is on I really don't notice the screen protector at all. I will say though that the trade-off of the matte finish/look is worth it to me for not worrying about fingerprint smudges anymore!

I really don't wanna get a screen film, but I hate the fingerprints. What's a good option?
Also I need a really good vent mount.....
I got the 3-pack anti-glare screen protectors from Verizon themselves and they do the job just fine and are cheap. They cut down on glare and reduce the impact of fingerprints substantially as well give it a nicer feel and making it easier to slide your fingers across the screen. They do nothing for privacy though, which is one of the things they are advertised to do.

i too just received my order of the SGP AF screen protectors and was wondering what effect they were going to have on the clarity of the screen. After looking at them it looked like it may have the same dimming affect that the VZW ones do. Guess i'll try them though since i already got them......as soon as my replacement DX gets here that is.

IMO they are quite comparable. I like the SGPs as it simply covers the entire glass.
