• After 15+ years, we've made a big change: Android Forums is now Early Bird Club. Learn more here.

And so it has begun...

I can't think of two organizations that deserve each other more than Fox News and the tea party which, of course, Fox News promotes. May they eat each other's children.

They kind of already are somewhat. . . Teapartiers are out marching/protesting against their own self-interests while Fox-News/Big Business/Status-quo reap the reward.

I wonder if I will live to see they day when there is a channel, or any medium for that matter, that I can watch and form my own opinion without being told what I think.....

There is a place ... it's called you 'mind'.

I can guarantee it's not a media outlet, and definitely not android forums ... so keep up the search my friend.

You'll never be able to separate yourself into a non ideological medium. . . not on this planet. So your mind must be trained in a fashion to form beliefs based on reason and logic applied to evidence. Uninfluenced by authority, tradition, or any other dogma. However, without hearing a convincing opposing position, you'll never find a truly logical belief yourself.

In the words of a opposing character's viewpoint: "Trust but verify".

... and last but not least. . . I don't know if you were refering to my OP. . but I never said which group was the uniter and which was the divider. . .enough said.

GRR, I wrote this long story about my personal experience with the NAACP and talked a bit about Fox News and closed with a bit about that podcast of Face the Nation where this meeting in Philly was kind of arranged, but I did something stupid with my browser and it is gone.

I'll write about it again someday. In explaining my views on that organization, I relived those years and the offense spurred me to write about it in its entirety. Now, I'm tired and don't really want to tell that story again unless there is beer involved (or ice cream but not at the same time, please.)

I do think I should write about how I became disenfranchised with the NAACP, but for now I will focus end this weekend right and leave the memories of those days until some other time. You may all now thank the almighty android god that I had an epic browser fail.

Oh, and to throw salt on the wounds my husband just said "That is why I edit in Word and then paste it in there." The worst is when you do it to yourself and someone comes by and reminds you just how dumb it was. I should make him write it.

Understood... even though I think your first mistake was 'microsoft'... but that's another thread.

In my opinion the NCAAP can never be as corrupt as Fox b/c when I think of corruption, I think of a institution's internal integrity and purpose being manipulated for other devious means. . . while remaining cloaked behind the veil of the symbolism in its institutional "name" (US Congess, Democracy, Teamsters, UN, ...etc.)

While people may not like what the NCAAP does, which is perfectly understandable. Its mission statement is obviously evident through the acronym in its name. Its misson and purpose is the advancement of colored people. It does not say to advance america, rich people, females, or nfl fans. It says colored people.

Fox News' misson statement on the other hand should be evident in its name; news, fair and balanced. Unfortunately not. You have to be a non gullible indivual of a critical thinking nature, who wants the truth in order to keep the wool from out of your face. Its fair and balanced misson statement is unquestionably the veil for the purposeful corruption. You know as well as I do that conspiring corruptors use the media outlet for a political/message utility for the neo conservative agenda. Its the manipulative voicebox of the right.... using race, patriotism, and divisiveness to insist whites be angry with blacks/hispanics, business men/women be afraid of their wealth being distributed... etc....etc.... etc. I could go on forever and forever... but im writing on my droid and its pissin me off autosuggesting my words. So i think u get my point.

That is why I believe that it has been corrupted. The principles are great, it's just that when people get involved it all goes to hell. It may not be the purpose of the NAACP to cause the harm that it sometimes does, but the effect is the same because its leaders don't always stop it from doing it even when called on to do so.

I understand what you mean about Fox News, I guess I probably even would give them even more of a break because nothing has affected me personally in a significant manner, yet.

Isn't that the way it always is?
