I have an HTC Desire (that is a Droid Incredible to Verizon people in the US). I like the 3.7" 480x800 AMOLED screen but it is too reflective and difficult to read under bright sunlight. Also the pentile pixel arrangement means that very small text is a bit blurry.
My Dad has the Samsung Galaxy S which has a 4" 480x800 Super AMOLED screen. It is very beautiful, very bright, not too reflective.
As far as Android phones go the following have the best screen:
HTC EVO - 4.3" 480x800 TFT (stolen from the HTC HD2).
Sony Experia 10 - 4.0" 480x800 TFT
Samsung Galaxy S - 4.0" 480x800 Super AMOLED
Nexus One/HTC Desire/HTC Droid Incredible - 3.7" 480x800 AMOLED.
Anyone my question is what is the perfect screen for an android touchscreen phone?
1. What size?
2. What resolution?
3. What technology, TFT, Super AMOLED etc?
4. As for those who care capacitive or resistive? I expect 80% or 90% want capacitive.
As people know the iphone 4 has a res of 640x960 but they have crippled the size at 3.5" (as a tactic to get people to also buy an ipad no doubt).
I used to own a Nokia internet tablet 770. It had a 4.1" 480x800 resistive screen. The same with the Toshiba TG01.
I think 4.1" is the perfect size. Something like 600x900 resolution. And either a TFT IPS or a RGB Super AMOLED capacitive.
