Screen protection.

I went with ClearFreak (made here in USA, Virginia in fact) because of the sensitivity concern
got a zapp in, and it's much too thick to not lose touch sensitivity, and watching the martin fields video on their website, noticed it appeared as thick as the zagg

got the clearfreak in, and it's thinner than the others and i noticed in installing it, much more flexible than the zagg

The martin fields one did have a nice installation tip, re using two pcs of scotch tape for handles while positioning the protector on the screen and not get fingerprints on the underside of the protector

do a google on the clearfreak - there were a couple of reviews online comparing them

and price isn't bad - they're $5.99 shipped - not sure about that for europe though

Does putting on the protecter lessens the sensitivity of the capacitive display? I'm thinking of getting a protector but afraid my screen won't be as responsive anymore.....

ive used a friends before and after screen protector and i have to say it didn't effect sensitivity at all.

cheers for all the comments guys keep them coming the more opinions the better :D

that should have said I didn't want to degrade....

old age + multi-tasking + CRS are a dangerous combo

back to topic - watch the installation videos at each of the fields and zagg web - you'll get a feel for their stiffness - the zagg i've got here while still attached to its backing, almost holds flat when lifted at one end

the clearfreak laid over or drooped like a sheet of standard paper

I am trying the zagg invisibleshield full body. When I have it will see how it goes.

I mainly bought it for the back of the phone as I don't want the back to look like my old iPhone3g and all scratched up. I hope it doesn't have that orange peel effect.

I ordered a basic screen protector as well, but going by what has been posted about the screen it might not need one. I love the feel of the touch screen and if the zagg screen has that matte finish I probably won't use the front piece.

Wish I saw the clearfreak one before I bought this one though. Looks pretty good too.

what about the "smoothness" of the screen? I remember using Zagg once on my Touch Diamond. It was really crap cos it makes the screen 'sticky'. It wasn't as smooth as when there's no protector.

maybe I should get a $1 screen protector and if I don't like it just throw it away :p
You will never get the same feel as the original surface if you use a protector as protectors doesn't come in tempered glass. I have yet to see a protector that preserves the exact same visibility from angles as well, although that's a lesser problem than the first one in my view.

actuallly, in another thread somewhere someone mentioned they left the original plastic sheet Tmo shipped the phone with,

i tried it and it actually was nice, feelwise, - didn't realize it had an adhesive holding it on but colors seemed true etc

don't think it would have shown the durability or life some of the aftermarket ones will, but for free - it wasn't bad at all
