Dumb Question about Unlimited Text

Alright, so I'm pretty sure when you have the Unlimited Text plan which includes Text, Picture and Video that you DO NOT incur data charges for sending/receiving Pictures and Videos.

My question is just to verify that this is true even with smartphones that have data plans. I am a new smartphone user.

Smartphone data plans are completely separate from phone services, Text is a traditional phone feature.

If you use Text functions, you have to have those phone plans in addition to data plans which cover email, apps and net features. An unlimited dataplan does NOT include Text.

I pay for Unlimited Texting for my family plan ($30/mo) which says it includes MMS messaging. On my pervious phone I sent picture texts all the time and was never charged for data to send to received pictures.

I just want to make sure that it continues to work that way on smartphones.

So the 3G watch dog app adds to the data count for MMS messaging. So this MMS messaging different for smartphones and the data is tacked on to the data plan quota? Back with my "dumbphone" and no data plan, MMS messages were covered under my unlimited text package...I didn't think that would change and hope it hasn't.

No one has insight on this?
