$180 / month Verizon Bill?

How much is everyone paying per month? My first bill just came in and for my wife and I (two lines) it's $120 / month for phone service and $30 x 2 for data. The guy who signed me up said it was $120 / month, total. I'm just freaked out that if I don't cancel ASAP I may be stuck with this, and info would be helpful.

How many minutes did you get on your plan? It's possible your first bill is prorated (for more than one full month... sometimes happens on first bill only, since you're billed for the "current" month, but depending on when your bill cycle is and what day of the month you got your phone, there may be some catching up to do.)

That being said... If you got the smallest family share plan with no texting, that's $70, then $60 for the two data plans would be $130/month, (then plus tax of course) so I'm not sure what he might have been referring to.

Do either yourself or your wife have an employee discount through work? That may make it more affordable so that you don't have to give back your Droid (which you do have 30 days to do so without an early termination fee.)

If they prorated it just call *611 and ask them to back date the plan. I have the 900 min for 79 and the data for 30. I also hassled the guy at the store a bit about if he had to charge me the activation fee and he waived it. Then asked how much I was gonna pay this month and if it was gonna be more then if he could just back date it so I'd just pay the normal price. I know they do this because before I got the unlimited text I would just call when I went over to backdate it so I didn't have to pay so much then later change to a cheaper text plan. You can't do that with the minutes tho. you can only upgrade the mins without a new contract. just call and complain, they'll work with you.

He's right verizon has alway's worked with me. They once let me go 4 months without paying my bill as long as ipromised to pay in full after. Any other company would have suspened service and possibly cancled and charged early termination fee. Unfortunatly verizon is one of the most expensive companies out there but that's the price you pay for great coverage I pay 190 for 3 lines and that will go to 230 in feb when my wife gets her droid on her new every two.

I had att and the plans for att/Verizon were the same when i went to switch.
Agree. The only thing that bothers me about VZW is the $1.99/MB charge for data on non-Smartphones and their schemes to get you to use data when you don't mean to. It seems ATT is nice enough to ignore data usage less than XX, as I never get a data charge on my ATT phone even when I accidentally click "MediaNet" button on my flip phone. But from what I've read VZW isn't so nice.

Verizon is VERY expensive. My plan for unlimited minutes, texts and ins on my phone is $171.71/month- absolutely ridiculous.

If you do have an android phone, get a google voice number.. get an invite or buy on ebay for $3.00.. Install google voice.. Drop you plan to the cheapest that still has 10 friends, turn off texting, and use google voice for all that.. Unlimited calls, unlimited text, fraction of the price..

My wife and i just did it, unlimited free texting is nice .. There is no way i'm paying $20/phone for unlimited texting..

But Verizon will also let you set up a block on "dumbphones" to prevent them from using data unintentionally. I've got this set up on two of the four lines on my account.

You do realize the new plan charges you more per minute right ?

Old plan = $0.098 / min
new plan = $0.12 / min

that's an 18% increase .. haha

Yeah, the same plan on VZ would be $30 more, but you actually be able to use the phone.. hehe (just teasin')

Lol where i live tmo service is practically as good as vz and better than att and sprint. I just couldnt justify paying vz more for them to be able to keep up their network deep in the boondocks somewhere.

Yeah I knew that. Over the past 2 years, at least, the most I ever used was 145 minutes out of 1000. I dont talk on my phone. Text and internet gets 100's of times more use.

By the way, at T-Mo, you really do get unlimted internet. I have asked many times. I have asked at stores, CS and tech support. They all say NO, when asked about there being an internet limit.

$99 (700 min Family select plan)
Includes :

Unlimited text to any network $0

Unlimited Mobile 2 Mobile ( Verizon Network) $0

Nationwide calling $0

Unlimited Web and E-mail for Droid Eris $30 x 2 = 60 ( I have 2 Droid Eris me and my Girlfriend)

.. I got my first bill its $ 210.. but i have to call the sales guy who sold me the phones he said once i get the first bill call him and he'll give me a $50 credit. so 210 - 50 = 160 for the first bill. (Not Bad)..

So monthly i would be paying $160 not includeing tax. so with tax 170ish...

what do u guys think. ( i could go back with t-mobile.. but i didn't get service in my house.. but with Verizon i do get service.. i have about 1 or 2 weeks left.. ) Help..

(OH YEA AND IT GETS SPLIT 50/50 EVERY MONTH)

Care to tell us how you have a Verizon land line for $5 a month?

Hey mully i believe its because scene he has a bundle with verizon.. They give you special promotions.. If you call verizon and let them know that you have Verizon cell phone and want Verizon at home. (Home Telephone) they will give u a good price to win your business. I live in California I have Att dsl. i recently got Dsl with them which i pay $35 a mth for (6MB). I used to have Cable internet Road runner (6mb) for $40 a mth. But Time Warner Cable had a promotion for $25 for the (6MB) connection.. i called ATT and told them to cancel my DSL they asked me why i told them about the promotion and they they didnt wanna lose a customer so they gave me a set promotion at $16.99 for life. So im only paying $17 a month. Have in mind i've only had ATT DSL for 3 weeks.. :D:D:D:D.. So if you want the same deals or something close to it.. just tell them your friends have it and you want it too.

Just looking over my bill, the following month after activating the DInc...my bill is $177.30! I looked a little closer and had a charge of $49.75 for 25 mb of data. So anyways long story short, I called and without hassle they fixed my bill back the way it was suppose to be. Also I have google voice so I dropped visual vmail. My plan is 450 minutes, unltd text and data, the highest priced insurance, .99 for rbt's, and taxes and stuff, now it comes to $126.74, that's more like it. So everyone should over their bill to make sure all the charges are correct. cya.
