Wow!! Biggest battery hog ever!! -Not having a signal

And turn off 3G when spending a lot of time in a low signal area. I work in a warehouse where I get a usable but weak 3G signal. I put the mobile network widget on my home screen and turn off 3G data when I don't need it. Calls and texts still come through and when I need to check email or do something that needs data, I flip the widget on. My battery life increased big time by turning off 3G in a weak signal area.

Welcome to my every day world at work :( It's why I leave my phone on a charger at work.

Sadly me too. I have to turn off 3G everyday when i get to work. Kind of sucks because I can't pull out my phone and play on it throughout the day. I have to get up and work outside the room to even do anything.

Also, my time without signal was 44%. I knew this is what was "killing" my battery because on the weekends my battery lasts much longer.

I say "killing" because I can still get a good 16 hours and more out of a charge. But then again, I'm not using it for 8-9 hours of that time.

Do you have roaming disabled? If not then your phone will constantly look for a signal which blows your battery. Turn off roaming or set it to Sprint Only and that will help.

I'll test that out. I'm not complaining about my battery life. I still have enough battery to use it after work and just plug it in when I go to bed. Just stating that I have horrible reception at work and can't really use my phone while there.

That's all.

Thats what I have to do also. I'm is a low signal area at work and the phone keeps scanning for a better signal all the time. I tried the "Home Only" trick only to get NO SERVICE 60% of the time and tons of missed calls. My phone stays tethered to my lappy via USB all day because of this issue.
