Root Root and OTA updates (NOT leaked)

OK, I've tried looking at various threads regarding this, and gotten various conflicting responses.

My situation: Rooted, but no other changes other than WiFi tether and Clockwork Recovery. Still running the stock SenseUI ROM.

In this specific case... two very specific questions. When an OTA update comes out:

(a) will I be notified? And

(b) assuming I am notified, will I be able to install it, or will the Clockwork Recovery cause trouble?

If you're not sure, please don't speculate. There's too much of that on this forum already.

Regardless, I probably wouldn't install any OTA anyway until I've seen the experiences of others here with it... I'm happy with my Inc now, and I won't be updating anything until I'm absolutely convinced it will make my Inc better than it is now.

You ask people not to speculate but how can anyone know for sure before the official update has been released? Hell we don't even know what the official update will contain.

Now if your rooted and on a stock rom there is a good chance you would be notified of the ota update but again no one knows for sure since it has yet to happen.

And I would highly suggest you unroot before accpeting the update, and if you accept any update without looking at the effects it has first here on these boards there is a chance you will be locked out of root.

And that's my plan. I've made it this far through life without being the first to do something. I have no problem waiting an extra week or two after the update officially comes out to see what to expect based on others' experience. I might be a little too cautious sometimes, but nothing bad ever happened by "doing nothing and waiting".

Right... I understand that. I was hoping for a response from someone who's been around the rooted Android block with other phones who might have an idea. I thought this might be a similar situation to past experience with the N1, Droid, etc.

That's what I was looking for... and I suspected, based on what I've read about your travels through the Android world, that you were going to be the one to answer it.

An issue with Clockwork, I assume?

I think so. I don't think the update can hand off to the third party recovery image upon reboot.
