Root Help with Root after Factory Reset

I had a Droid Incredible, rooted, no custom ROMs installed. I sold the phone. Before I did, I did a factory reset, to remove my data from the phone but maintain root status for the new user. The guy who bought the phone from me is having trouble accessing the mobile network now. We had a devil of a time just activating the phone on his number. Verizon helped us manually activate it eventually. Anyway, any ideas what might be causing the problem? I've sent him directions for unrooting the phone to see if that fixes it. Any other suggestions or ideas why it might have happened? -- one other thing, we swapped memory cards when he bought the phone.

Gadgetmom, you break my heart, sold you Incredible :( Can I ask why?

I really dont think root access is going to effect the mobile network coverage at all. It sounds more likely he is having network coverage issues. Had you installed the leaked OTA or anything?

No custom ROMs were ever installed. Just wifi tether as far as root apps go. It could be network issues as I had trouble with the Droid X while with him. One thing it doesn't explain though, is why it didn't work on wifi either. Everything was working fine until I did the factory reset.

Don't hate me. I love the Droid Incredible. I have a disease though. I buy just about every new phone that comes out. Really wanted to try out the extra screen real estate on the Droid X. If I decide not to keep the X, I'll go back to the Incredible. It's my favorite of all Android phones to date.
