i am a complete newb (1st post) here is my story hopefully someone can help me out. i currently have verizon, i bought a motorola droid(a855) off of craigslist. my stupidity didnt check the esn, well i cannot use the phone because the previous lady did not pay her bill... if i got this phone unlocked would it take it off of this list? i dont want to try and screw anyone else over by trying to sell it to someone else... anyone know of a way to get this phone off this list? TIA

the only way is to plead your case with verizon. but i doubt it will work. this is a case of buyer beware. there is not really a way to unlock a cdma phone like a gsm. it all has to do with the provider allowing the esn on the network.

yeah they pretty much told me im screwed... but i figure they wouldnt be able to tell me about unlocking or rooting either so i figured i would try an find out

you and root it all day long. you just will not be able to use and voice or data on it. only wifi.
