This is it. The only working method I've used to get all day..even multiple day battery life out of my incredible.

The secret? Long hold the power button and turn the Mobile network OFF (the bottom option)

When I went on a camping trip recently my phone would die on me in 5 hours, the next day i turned my mobile network off and i got a whole day of phone service with 28% left on the next morning! I would just turn it back on whenever I needed to use the internet throughout the day.

So if you are sitting at work for long hours and not using your phone it would be a good idea to shut off the mobile web, you will save tons of battery life. You can turn it back on easily whenever you need to use the internet and if you plan on not using the phone for a long while just leave it off. You can still make and receive calls just fine but your phone wont constantly be connecting to the mobile network and draining battery juice throughout the day.

This does save a good deal of battery life......IF and only IF you have have apps constantly polling though. I've done pretty extensive battery tests with and without 3G (I used switchpro to toggle on and off data connection) and if your able to set up your polling apps (3-4 approx) to poll once an hour or less there really isn't such a huge difference in battery life. Some people need more constant polling and even then they are OK with the 10 hours they get out of it. This tip is good for some though or for those who use it more as a phone and text device as 3G is not needed for either of those communications unless you get a MMS.

I used to toggle 3G on and off all day on my Eris, but it got to be a hassle imo and I thought it sucked that I had to do this just to get through my day. Until I realized the whole polling issue and how and when it worked. Give it a try. It's so usage/user dependent, but I easily get through an entire 16 hour day on a charge with 3G on all day polling 2 email accounts, weather, and calender.

Good hint if you need long battery life and no data...but if that is typical for you just get a dumbphone.

Exactly. I tried this too and it did exactly what the OP said it would - extend my battery life significantly. However it "broke" my work e-mail and my personal e-mail. It also broke my weather widget on my home screen and my GPS program. So I got no work e-mail and no personal e-mail all day long (which is a big deal) and my weather widget said the temperature was 80 when it was easily 100+ (minorly annoying) and I couldn't use the device for GPS navigation, not to mention I couldn't surf the web. I basically had a dumb phone as I had crippled all of the smart phone functionality of the phone.

This is crazy, All these battery life threads....

Come on people the average human body only has about 24 hours of up or awake or whatever you want to call it time.

I agree, I figure if a person can get their phone from wake till sleep and charge at night, no biggie. That said, most people cannot do that with the stock battery if they use their phone at all. With a 1500maH or better battery it should not be a problem for most people.

No I understand where there coming from because this battery does suck,
But with that said what did you expect its a high powered mini computer in your pocket that is going to run out of battery if you use it.

I make it from 6AM to 10PM every day on the stock battery. And yes, I use it. Pandora in the car and at the gym, texts, games, emails set to push, internet. Not too hard. If you only get a few hours out of it, you have an app draining your battery uselessly.

I guess it depends on what you want your phone to do. You know, some folks want to run some apps that need to sync once in a while. I have the Seidio battery and I get an average of 16-17 hours. I only got about 10-13 hours out of the stock battery. Yes, there are things I could do to improve it, but it would have been at the expense of how I want to use my phone. Another thing to consider, all these batteries are not totally equal. I've seen two batteries that were *supposed* to be the same but they did not give the same performance. If yours performs better, my hat is off.

Every time there is a battery life discussion, we get told that our battery life just sucks because basically we don't know how to control our phones properly. I agree with the thinking that we should not have to worry and work over battery life the way we do to get the use and performance out of them that we need. I don't expect multiple days use out of the thing but people who do not have their phones doing as much as mine are telling me they don't understand why I can't get the same battery life they do. Well, obviously it is because I'm not using the phone the same way they are. Another thing, how much does each person actually use their phone to talk? I have noticed that a phone conversation of length will put a pretty good hit on my battery life. I use system panel to monitor apps and I know what my phone is doing. I know what apps are using cpu and network and when.
