Help Possible exchange issues because of outlook?

I know there are people out there having issues with outlook and it seems different solutions work for different people.

I am able to sync exchange just fine through OWA. It sends and receives just fine. So everything should be good right?

Well if I close the outlook program on my computer I stop receiving email. Which is very wierd because I can still send. I won't realize that I closed outlook and then realize that I haven't received an email is like 2 hours. I open outlook and have 4 sitting there. I have to turn the droid off and on and then they come through. Any similar situations? OWA is not dependent on the outlook client for a workstation. Maybe some of you have noticed it.

Sounds like a server side setting.

If outlook is not running....Why push the mail?

It still pushes it to OWA. If you go to the web address you see your email just fine. Thats the point of outlook web access. It shouldn't matter if there is a physical computer turned on running that account. That account is still existent and receiving emails in OWA. So if a phone is linked to OWA it will should still receive it. Same for blackberry. When we set them up through OWA the computer didn't have to be on.

Otherwise it's like the old Verizon software that your computer had to be on to sync email and push it to your phone. Those are client based. Needed a client actually running outlook.

Nothing is "pushed" to OWA. Instead you are looking at your Mailbox live just as you would be through Outlook in native mode.

OWA is just a viewer and not a store.

Instead of turning off your phone, do a manual refresh. Click the Settings button and then hit Refresh.

I've had to do this only once. I don't know why. While in there check Account Settings from Email check frequency.

I can think of no reason Outlook running or not would make any difference if you are using native protocol. If you were using POP3 I could see there being an issue but it would actually be the opposite of what you are describing.

Well I use the term push loosely. What I meant was that if something is configured to look at OWA having an actual outlook client running shouldn't matter.
